The necessity of this project lays in the lack of coordination of women''s organizations in Romania in the strategic approach to gender equality, lack of financial and organizational resources, a coherent direction of monitoring and promoting changes at the policy level and lack of capacity to raise public awareness on the issues faced by women beneficiaries of NGO services. 21 NGOs members and Romanian Women''s Lobby (ROWL) will be supported through organizational development, strengthening the monitoring and advocacy role for women''s rights, gender equality and combating gender-based violence.
Project activities consist in AGORA feminist camps, national events and ROWL campaigns, local feminist solidarity events, lobby and advocacy in the gender budgeting and women in decision making 50/50 events, advocacy campaigns on issues related to the effects of economic migration on the transnational family, digitization, climate change from the perspective of gender equality in Romania using experts from Romania, Norway, Hungary, Poland and Bulgaria. Also there will be conducted an analysis of domestic violence and gender-based violence and held organizational development workshops to ROWL’s members NGOs. 
Due to the project, there will be achieved a stronger and more active network and, at grassroots level it will be more aware women and civic involvement. The beneficiaries are ROWL member NGOs and umbrella organization, their beneficiaries and 1400 girls and women participating in activities at the local and national level, of which 20 Roma women. The partners participate with experts from Norway, Hungary, Bulgaria and Poland in activities that explore the  transposing procedures relevant to Romania in terms of good practice in working with Women''s NGOs in order to contribute to the exchange of knowledge and find common tools to solve common problems.

Summary of project results

The purpose of the project was to support the 21 member NGOs of the Romanian Women’s Lobby (RoWL) in order to raise and maintain on the public agenda – gender equality and gender-based violence issues and women rights that are endangered especially in the context of economic constraints.

The project proposed a strategic approach involving research, training and mentoring, direct support and involvement in advocacy activities and organizing events.

17 NGOs adopted efficient management procedures and regularly communicated information about their results to the public (through annual reports, websites, and online presentations). 2 NGOs secured at least two sources of funding, representing 20% of their annual budget. There were unfolded 6 advocacy campaigns on topics such as gender budgeting, parity in political decision-making, data collection and budgeting for domestic and gender-based violence services, analysis of the effects of economic migration on transnational families, the impact of digitalization, and climate change from the perspective of gender equality in Romania. The 21 RoWL NGOs were provided support to align with key gender equality information and policies by involving experts from Romania, Norway, Hungary, Poland, and Bulgaria. There were organized 3 AGORA feminist camps and the Feminist Forum, attended by 154 women; 4 national events (208 people) and 4 local feminist solidarity events (213 people, including 174 women), the Gender Equality Festival (505 people), specific training for political engagement (9 lobby and advocacy events 50/50, 361 people including 343 women), and 6 personal development events for 26 Roma women from rural areas. Through these events and actions, 1678 people were involved in the activities of civil society organizations.
