Description

Victims of domestic violence in Romania are insufficiently served by social services and do not have the essential integrated support necessary for the transition to a life without violence, in which their rights are respected. Also, the community has preconceptions and attitudes that do not respect gender equality and that encourage gender violence. In addition, the support system provided by public and private entities for this target group does not have a standardized procedure in all parts of the country and in some cases it is inefficient.

The project’s main objective is to support the principles of human rights and equal treatment, especially for victims of domestic violence, by providing integrated social, psychological, legal and shelter services for them, as well as improving the intervention methods in collaboration with institutional partners and changes to a positive attitude through information and education campaigns. The necessity of the project resides in the needs of the target group considered - victims of domestic violence- the current capacity to provide services being insufficient for the existing demand. The expected results of the project are the construction of a building for the recovery center, the provision of 4 social and basic services for 30 persons, of which at least 12 will benefit from hosting services, 7 cases undertaken in court regarding human rights and equal treatment, the development of 12 sustainable partnerships, the increase of the information level of  500 citizens  5 information campaigns on human rights and the organizational development of the association, by carrying out an efficient management procedure and a fundraising campaign.
