Description

The main aim of the project is to employ transnational cooperation to support 1,400 NEETs vulnerable due to multiple barriers in Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Cyprus to shake off the NEET status by addressing challenges related to career planning, entrepreneurship education and validation of learning with the Open Badges system. Ultimately, we seek to change young people’s lives for the better.

To reach the objective, we have planned 3 main interventions that are innovative for all 4 target countries. With the operation of Job Labs, Entrepreneurship Labs and the establishment of a system for validation of non-formal learning, we will increase the number of NEETs who obtain employment, education or training in the long run.

Ultimately, we seek to influence the employers to approve the system we provide to the final beneficiaries. Our consortium has a cross-sectorial character with partners gaining from the transfer of know-how – this diversity facilitates the exchange of best practices and policy-learning.

Summary of project results

The project addressed challenges young people face in career planning, entrepreneurship education, and learning validation in Cyprus, Italy, Greece and Portugal which lead to increasing youth unemployment in these countries.

The consortium conducted the needs analysis and implemented Job Labs and Entrepreneurship Labs for over 1,400 NEETs  equipping them with skills, knowledge, and recognition necessary for employment and further education. By focusing on career planning and entrepreneurship education, the Project Partners managed to increase opportunities for youth employment and personal development.

Through Job Labs and Entrepreneurship Labs, xxx NEETs had their entrepreneurial and job skills developed.  Additionally, the validation of learning with Open Badges provided tangible recognition for their achievements. 1622 NEETs transitioned into employment, education, or training opportunities.  65% of participants reported finding employment or enrolling in further education within six months of completing the program. The project also raised awareness about the importance of non-formal education and skills validation.
