Description

Promote a change in the way tourism is seen and experienced by tourists, service providers and the local population leveraged on the concept of economy and full cycle circular construction - from design and construction to guest experience - recognized as a reference in ​​sustainable tourism development. create a pilot installation of sustainable tourism - eco luxury hotel based on a circular economy applied to construction, that uses renewable energy and local materials; to put into practice, test, evaluate and disseminate actions in the area of ​​sustainable tourism and circularity; that uses scalable and internationally replicable methodologies and approaches; that serve as a model for new tourism projects that pursue the same objectives and that promote non-seasonal tourism and promote tourist stays in the region throughout the year. secondary materials increased in the supported sectors

Summary of project results

The goal of the project is the demonstration and awareness of the efficiency of sustainable construction in tourism, in an innovative approach to Sustainable Tourism. For that, it would build a sustainable tourism pilot-facility, based on circular economy concepts, from the ground up – design, construction and user experience – that is the lighthouse for dissemination of policies which support a shift in resource utilization towards sustainability in the tourism industry & promoting the dissemination of the policies established in the UN Climatic Summit 2019.

This project mainly saw training and dissemination activities completed, which demonstrated high adaptation to different target audiences and formats in the pandemic context.

Training course on Circular Construction; Training course on CE; Awareness raising on CE; Training Course on CE for businesses; Sustainable tourism training course; Awareness raising on Food Waste; CE Matchmaking event; Circular Economy Forum; Social Networks.

There was also work developed for the building, with architectural, specialty and landscape architecture projects having been completed, and construction licenses obtained from the competent authorities.

The projects achieved results in general public awareness for circular economy and sustainable construction (tourism schools, for example). It also had an impact through business training for sustainable tourism and construction.

With the specialized projects approved, this project could continue the sustainable construction project for tourism.

Summary of bilateral results

The DPP partner REFRAME was an advisor throughout the project and gave a 8 day training course on Circular Construction.Its participation in the project improved knowledge and mutual understanding between entities involved.Contact may continue but there are no short term plans to proceed.
