The objective of the project "School for Citizenship - For the Rights of All" is to contribute to the educational community assuming itself as a reference in the promotion of Human Rights, strengthen civic awareness, intercultural dialogue and respect for all beings humans, through certified and accredited training of teachers of Lisbon school clusters in Human Rights Education and the mobilisation of children and young people to defend human rights through activities in schools that promote diversity, tolerance and respect.Rights

Summary of project results

The project responded to the need for increased knowledge and action on human rights, identifying teachers and community volunteers as strategic agents in raising awareness, training and mobilizing young people.

The project focused on four main activities, achieving the following results:

1 - Certified teacher training:

- Provided teachers with knowledge, methodologies, and didactic materials to enhance classroom practices in raising awareness and mobilizing students to promote a universal human development (HD) culture.

- Conducted a 25-hour course, certifying 81 teachers, totaling 100 hours of training across four classes.

2 - Volunteer training and supervision:

- Offered a 12-hour certified course to two groups, involving 22 volunteers, totaling 100 hours of training.

- Volunteers contributed a total of 1.215 hours of work.

3 - Youth awareness and mobilization activities:

- Conducted 108 awareness-raising activities, engaging 1.312 students.

- Promoted 32 community campaigns, with a total of 24 campaigns specifically involving young people.

4 - Creation and dissemination of an online pedagogic guide:

- Developed and shared a guide that compiles the activities and resources created during the intervention, ensuring availability for medium and long-term use.

- Hosted two webinars to disseminate the activities and guide to the broader educational community, including partner school groups, local authorities, volunteers, the community, and the Directorate General of Education.

In quantitative terms, the following was achieved:

-81 professional staff trained;

-1.256 youths mobilised by NGOs to engage in human rights work;

-24 awareness raising campaigns carried out;

-90% share of target group showing concern for human rights.

In terms of capacity building, the promoter carried out a needs assessment and prepared an action plan. 5 professionals received training in accounting and business english.

All proposed targets were met and exceeded.
