Summary of project results
The project in question was implemented by the Municipal Social Assistance Center in Bartoszyce. The Association for the Integration of Disabled Persons SION in Bartoszyce was invited to jointly implement the project, in partnership. The aim of the project was to improve the functioning of the system of counteracting domestic violence implemented through:

3. organization of informational and educational and integration activities:
4. a series of training courses for specialists
The project was directed at the following problems and activities:

- Training for caregivers of the elderly and disabled, including in pre-medical first aid and improving nursing skills.
2. development of prevention in the field of domestic violence, implemented, among other things, through:

The project focused on addressing the problems of violence, particularly among groups with special needs who may have difficulty responding in emergency situations, and on supporting the caregivers of these individuals, including:
- 50 elderly and disabled people who, thanks to the training, have acquired the skills to respond to threatening situations and have felt more confident in their daily lives,
- 10 caregivers who improved their first aid and nursing skills, which affected the quality of care for the people they care for,
- 10 children and young people with disabilities who participated in the workshops,
which contributed to their better understanding of the issue of violence and their ability to deal with difficult situations,
- 40 representatives of services and non-governmental organizations, who gained the knowledge necessary for effective cooperation in the area of countering violence,
- indirect recipients, i.e. residents of the city of Bartoszyce, participants of day-care centers, etc., increasing their awareness of the problem of domestic violence and available forms of support, which fostered the building of a more integrated and supportive community.
Thanks to the information, promotion of the project and activities provided for by the project, the level of knowledge and awareness of Bartoszyce residents of the problem of violence against the elderly and disabled increased, as well as the competence of services and people providing support. The offer of existing activities was increased and new ones were created, i.e. developing skills for preventing violence and responding in the face of danger (including Krav MAGA, relaxation training, training in First Aid) for the benefit of people at risk of and affected by domestic violence, especially the elderly and disabled adults and children.
Thanks to all initiatives, awareness of violence was raised and the competencies of both those affected and their caregivers and professionals working in this area were strengthened. The project has contributed to building a more integrated and supportive community in Bartoszyce, as well as, in the long term, will contribute to better support for those at risk of or experiencing violence.
In summary: participation in the project and active involvement of employees in all project activities allowed to gain knowledge and experience, which will be used in the creation of strategies or design of services that in the future the Beneficiary will be able to offer to residents of the city of Bartoszyce.
