Description

The aim of the project is to implement in the Chojnów commune the new model of domestic violence prevention (as created under PDP2). The model will be a “tool” used to reduce the phenomenon of domestic violence by improving the quality of relationships in the family, in particular between spouses/partners.

To reach this aim, the activities will target the original causes of various forms of domestic violence as well as raising the awareness what kind of behaviour can be classified as domestic violence or can lead to domestic violence.

The prevention activities will be conducted at three levels: universal, selective and indicative and they will be implemented by: hampering the factors, which cause potential threats and encouraging the activity in desirable areas.

The project envisages the creation of the Family Centre, which will operate under the network model.

The project is to improve the functioning of the family violence prevention system, and consequently reduce the occurrence of domestic violence.

The Family Centre will be based on the current system and on the cooperation between and the activities of the municipality institutions. In particular it will concentrate on the cooperation between the Municipal Social Service Centre (GOPS), the representatives of schools, kindergartens, Police Departments and Caritas branches. Additionally, there will be established cooperation between the Family Centre and the Council Psychological - Pedagogical Dispensary in the context of different support forms and cooperation.

The activities under the project will promote the principles of non-discrimination, gender equality, mutual respect, and human conflicts resolution without violence, they rely on common values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, rule of law and human rights, including the rights of minorities.
