Description
SWIMER is engaged in the manufacturing of plastic products, such as tanks for storing all kinds of liquids, including fuels, fertilizers, water and all types of chemicals. Our customers operate in the agricultural, construction, transportation, industrial and chemical industries. With the current market climate, the most important aspect improving competitiveness in our industry is a sustainable cost policy. The project will reduce our company’s production costs by, among other things, decreasing the cost of electricity and heat which can be recovered in the recuperation process. The project introduces an innovative process of heat recovering from the production process and using it for cooling the hall and production line. It will also reduce electricity costs through the use of a PV installation and a transformer with wiring. These investments, relying on alternative energy sources and elimination of power loss during energy transmission, will help to significantly reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere by 174.10 tons per year, and reduce the annual electricity consumption by 0.04 GWh. The project covers the purchase of a transformer station with wiring, the construction of a production hall and relocation of the production line to the new hall, the purchase of a heat recovery plant and PV panels.
Summary of project results
The need to implement the project, in addition to environmental factors, results from the current market situation. Currently, the prices of storage tanks have dropped by approximately 30% compared to 5 years ago. With rising work, energy and component costs, the most appropriate solution is energy saving.
High energy costs of production processes as well as other operating conditions of companies, especially in times of economic crisis, force the implementation of technologies enabling the use of the potential in the innovative use of technological processes and their optimization. In the case of SWIMER, the combination of these activities leads to a significant reduction in energy expenditure to improve the quality and efficiency of production, as well as to set operational standards at a level previously unattainable.
The implementation of the innovation has created conditions for further automation of the production process, which will simultaneously reduce production costs. Thanks to the project, the company will aspire to meet Industry 3.0 standards. This is a step towards the industry 4.0 standard desired by Swimer. Thanks to these activities, production will be more standardized. This will allow the company to meet all certification standards and will then allow the company to enter further industries or new markets that have not yet been available to the company.
The purchase of a heat recovery installation will reduce the cooling time of the tank descent in the production process. This reduces production costs. The purchase of a photovoltaic installation and a new transformer will also reduce production costs.
For the customer, this means maintaining a low price while maintaining high product quality.
Thanks to this investment, the company''s offer will be more competitive in terms of prices. High-quality products at a competitive, often lower price will be appreciated by potential customers. The use of pro-ecological solutions will certainly improve the company''s image among the competition. Swimer will gain recognition as a company that respects the environment and is innovative.
Thanks to the introduction of the project, we forecast an increase in market share by approximately 10%. The Swimer brand is well-known, and the tanks are gaining recognition among the most demanding customers. The only factor that tank manufacturers in Poland compete with is price. By maintaining a low price while increasing production costs, Swimer will increase its advantage over its competitors.
The main features of the innovative process are:
- shortening the chilling process by up to 50%,
- reducing production and maintenance costs of the Plant,
- making SWIMER 100% independent of refrigerant supplies heating from external suppliers using the process of its production from non-renewable fuels (i.e. coal),
- elimination of excessive amounts of water vapor from the air – harmful for the production process – the result is improvement product quality,
- significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere originating from the combustion of LPG gas (especially reducing CO and CO2 content in exhaust gases),
- use of waste heat contained in exhaust gases,
- increased operational comfort at the plant and independence from suppliers external,
- comprehensive use of recovered waste heat in plant operating conditions,
- automation and monitoring of energy consumption processes, energy carriers, as well as production heat and cold,
- creating a work environment that improves efficiency and security.
Thanks to this investment, the company''s offer will be more competitive in terms of prices. High-quality products at a competitive, often lower price will be appreciated by potential customers (farmers, production, fuel industries). The use of pro-ecological solutions will certainly improve the company''s image among the competition. Swimer will gain recognition as a company that respects the environment and is innovative.
