Description
Our company is committed to promoting renewable energy sources, including production of energy from PV installations. The project is a natural progression of the company’s activities in implementing ecological solutions in the region of Warmia and Mazury. It stems from our desire to implement eco-innovation in tourism as this is expected by customers, and to take advantage of the region’s assets. The project introduces an ecological recreational and sports equipment rental service in the Great Masurian Lakes area.
In the course of project development we prepared the concept of the application of RES on boats to promote sustainable boating. An innovative PV panel system will be used as an alternative energy source. Wind turbines will be key in generating renewable energy used to power the energy bank day and night when sunlight is unavailable or scarce. Energy will be produced both while sailing and while stationing in port. The mixed charging system for the energy bank will make it possible to use both solar and wind energy which is more available on water than in a developed area. This solution will provide significant energy autonomy for the boats and the house on water for rent.
The project includes the purchase of 4 pedal boats, a house on the water and 3 houseboats powered by energy from renewable sources. A closed water cycle and wastewater treatment plant on board will ensure water conservation, and the equipment charter will be totally environmentally neutral. We will cooperate with a scientific unit to develop the most economical boat propulsion (a combination of a hybrid engine, PV panels and wind turbines). It is estimated that annual CO2 emissions will decrease by 3.17 tons.
Summary of project results
The project is being implemented in response to customer expectations and needs, ecological challenges related to mass tourism in the region, as well as the implementation of strategic goals related to development of Warmia and Mazury. The project will contribute to increasing the competitiveness and development of the Applicant''s business by increasing employment and increasing revenues and profit. The investment presented in this application is a response to the progressive degradation of the natural environment related to mass tourism; the implementation of the project will contribute to strengthening the image of shipping as an ecological way of traveling and spending free time. The service is addressed mainly to sailors, a group that pays particular attention to environmental aspects and is open to modern, pro-environmental solutions. The ecological activities described by the Applicant in this application, combined with the promotion of healthy activity and the use of natural conditions to promote sustainable and more conscious travel, will contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the project and the Innovations in the area of inland or marine waters scheme.
Effects of project implementation Thanks to the support from the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 2014-2021, an innovative service was implemented in the form of ecological rental of recreational and sports equipment used in the area of the Great Masurian Lakes. Activities 1. Purchase of 4 boats Four new boats were purchased: PLATINUM 40 FLY HYBRID (units: Intuition, Destination and Imagination) and FUTURA 40 FLY HYBRID. 2. Development of the concept of an adapter for a conventional boat engine The designed attachment allows you to connect the electric motor with a shaft coming from a stationary diesel engine. When the stationary engine is running, the rotating shaft drives an electric motor, which acts as a power generator in the event of a lack of electricity from renewable energy sources on the boats. This solution created a hybrid drive consisting of a stationary diesel engine and an electric motor. The electric motor has a controlled clutch that allows the drive to be disconnected when switching to a conventional engine, which is particularly important in the event of a failure, as it will allow maintenance-free disconnection of the electric drive and the unit to move on the diesel engine. The attachments were installed on the new boats.

INCREASED INNOVATION OF THE ENTERPRISE AND SALES OF INNOVATIVE PRODUCTS - diversification of the company''s activities and building a leading position among Polish companies in the recreational equipment rental industry - introducing a unique service to the company''s offer in the form of renting a houseboat with an innovative, ecological drive - increasing the Company''s revenues and opening up to new customers, both from the domestic and foreign markets 3. REDUCING THE COSTS OF OPERATING THE ENTERPRISE The technological solutions used allowed the company to expand its operations, acquire new customers and promote the region. High-class boats guarantee lower operating costs compared to similar equipment but equipped with an internal combustion engine 4. PROTECTION OF THE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT Due to the boat propulsion technology used, CO2 emissions into the atmosphere are reduced. The purchased boats have LED lighting, which also contributes to reduce energy consumption and thus protect the natural environment 5. STRENGTHENING THE COMPANY''S STAFF POTENTIAL The increase in the company''s human resources potential was ensured by: - creation of a new job - ensuring comfortable working conditions by implementing modern fixed assets in the enterprise - development of competences through project implementation in cooperation with a scientific unit - development of competences through employee participation in the implementation of a project subsidized by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism 6. IMPROVING THE PROFITABILITY OF THE ENTERPRISE As a result of the implementation of the project, the Applicant''s revenues will increase
