Description

We operate a hotel and a marina on Tałty Lake near Mikołajki – one of the main tourist centres of the Great Mazurian Lakes region; we also have a fleet of 4 ships for tourist cruises and charter. The marina is one of the largest in the region, with more than 200 metres of shoreline infrastructure. In addition to moorings in the harbour, there is a captain’s office, access to sanitary facilities, rain showers for overnight boat guests and water equipment rental. Our goal is to develop and further modernize the port by introducing pro-environmental solutions, and IT tools for port management and customer reservations. The project involves enlarging the existing harbour with additional 39 berths for boats and ships, constructing a pier and introducing elements which will make it an eco-marina: photovoltaic panels in the harbour infrastructure; mobile pump to collect sewage from ships and sanitary facilities; and a “life rack” that will increase the safety of marina customers. (It is a sound and light system integrated with a lifebelt that alerts a person in the water to a life threatening situation). In addition, we will purchase a containerized boathouse with sanitary facilities and an elevator for people with limited mobility; renovate 3 tourist cottages and repurpose them as thematic cottages for training (Angler’s House, Sailor’s House and Health House with wellness), including the installation of multimedia walls. Port management and monitoring systems will also be acquired.

As a result of the project we will offer to boaters a safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly marina. The estimated reduction in our port’s annual CO2 emissions will be 12 tons, and the amount of waste we collect from ships and yachts will be about 84 tons per year, reducing illegal sewage discharges into the lake.
