Description
ARMATOR offers tourist cruises on Wigry Lake on the board of the historic “TRYTON” ship dating back to 1941. Under the project, we will modernize the ship to adapt it to navigation in the quiet and protected waters of Hołny Lake by replacing the diesel propulsion system with an electric one, along with an additional source of energy in the form of photovoltaic panels. On this lake, in a unique natural location near the north-eastern border of Poland, we run a resort and restaurant called Dworek Hołny. The project will allow ARMATOR to create accommodation packages that combine the previously dispersed activities. We will offer stays at Dworek Hołny with a sightseeing cruise (as well as the cruises alone) which will include - in addition to nature observation - tasting regional dishes onboard the ship. The offer so formulated will allow us to reach new customers, including foreign customers interested in the history and nature of the region.
In addition to upgrading the vessel and replacing the propulsion system, the project covers the purchase of a charging station for the vessel, upgrading the marina with environmentally inert composite materials, thermo-modernisation of the waiting area for customers of the new services, and installation of photovoltaic panels on the roof of Dworek Hołny. These will power both the charging station, and the restaurant and apartments. We anticipate that the project will reduce our facility’s annual electricity consumption by 0.05 GWh, which translates into a reduction in annual CO2 emissions of 29.44 tons. The resulting energy efficiency, along with the expanded services sales, will increase the company’s revenue by 22% per year and profits by over 100%.
