Description
The goal of the project is to deploy environment-friendly technological solutions in a nursery building in the mountain town of Nowy Targ. The project will foster revenues and employment of Art-Connect (8 new jobs), and will help improve energy efficiency by 0.03 GWh, reduce emissions of pollutants by 24.41 tons and ensure better safety for the pupils and the facility staff. This is vital due to the geographic location of Nowy Targ at the bottom of a structural basin which fosters the downflow of air masses containing local and cross-border pollutions. To that end we will carry out refurbishment and construction works, i.e. building insulation, installation of photovoltaic panels, heat pumps, central heating and a freon system to cool the site, plus the installation of new doors and windows.
Significant expenditure items will also be computer tools and coding software for the classrooms, as another goal of the project is to raise the environmental awareness of children and parents. A pedagogical innovation will be implemented at the kindergarten – a modern coding-based education model. The teaching of programming will help pupils acquire basic competences which will bring about the improvement of their reading and counting skills, enhancement of life sciences knowledge, better care for own health and safety, and the shaping of pro-social attitudes.
Summary of project results
The project was to respond both to the needs of parents living in the municipality of Nowy Targ, as well as the Applicant himself: - Reducing the costs associated with the consumption of electricity and heat. - Improving air quality in the municipality, promoting ecological attitudes among residents and entrepreneurs of the municipality. - Ensuring high air quality in the kindergarten building (reduction of dust and dust mites, adequate air hydration) . - Innovative solutions provided in the material range, as implementation of the child temperature monitoring system directly at the entrance to the kindergarten building, implementation the F9 air filtration system used in the building''s mechanical ventilation centers, use of 20 g/h ozone generators, will affect the health of all wards of the facility. - Promotion pro-environmental attitudes from the youngest years among children, youth and adult. - The applicant of the non-design cost framework will finance additional classes on the promotion of ecological attitudes, as well as on environmental protection - Creating a safe base of care for preschool children in relation to the epidemic situation in the country. - Use of environmental solutions that do not emit additional harmful substances into the air (e.g. exhaust fumes), do not emit a noise, are non-invasive for the natural environment (photovoltaic panels), do not affect the environment negatively about the natural landscape. - Introduction of innovative educational activities on the scale of the region. The world is moving, and contact with new technologies is inevitable. With the help of coding, you can develop among the youngest social competences such as group work and compromise. -The need to modernize the ventilation due to its technical condition not suitable for further use -The need to adapt the building in accordance with the provisions of health and safety and safety -High costs of electricity bills safety of technology and reduction of losses in connection with energy transmission - Increasing electricity bills, market uncertainty - Energy dependence on the power plant, which may be partially eliminated by the installation of RES (Renewable Energy Sources).
The Beneficiary''s preschool facility is the first facility in Nowy Targ, which after the basic thermomodernization, consisting in the warming of walls and roof, replacement of windows and doors, was equipped with significant installations using renewable energy sources, as heat pumps and photovoltaic panels. The adaptation and construction works carried out and the purchase of fixed assets influenced the implementation of 9 new solutions into the company''s practice, including: - implementation of one system for monitoring the temperature of children directly at the entrance to the kindergarten building - implementation of one system of ozone generators - Ozone generators 20 g/h were used - implementation of coding classes in the preschool education offer - implementation of one integrated building control system - implementation of one energy storage - implementation of one monitoring system (ensuring security in the facility through internal and external monitoring) - in the mechanical ventilation units of the building, an air filtration system of class F9 was used - implementation of one photovoltaic system - implementation of heat pump system As a result of the project, the Beneficiary offers an innovative service - preschool education, which differs from the offer already possessed with the following features of its innovation: Implementation of the child temperature monitoring system directly at the entrance to the kindergarten building; Providing safety in the facility through external (2 high-performance cameras) and internal monitoring; F9-class air filtration system in the building''s mechanical ventilation units; Ozone generators 20 g/h; Introduction of coding educational activities. Aftr the project was completed, an expost audit was carried out indicating that before the modernization, the emission of tons of the equivalent was 28.67 tons of CO2/year, after modernization (with photovoltaic installation) is 1.54 tons CO2/year. This means that the emission decrease of 27.13 tonnes of CO2/year has been achieved. At the same time, the demand for final energy was 37,472 MWh / year; after modernization (2 photovoltaic installation) it is 5,009 MWh / year It means that a reduction in the annual electricity consumption of 32,463 MWh / year has been achieved. This allowed the target value of the Estimated index to reduce the annual consumption of electricity" at 0.05 GWh
The aim of the project was to increase the competitiveness of the company through the use of environmentally friendly technological solutions in the service building (preschool) located at 61 Szaflarska Street in Nowy Targ. The actions taken led to the implementation of innovative solutions in the enterprise will develop the business activity of the entrepreneur, including an increase in revenues, as well as employment, and at the same time contributed to better energy efficiency, reduced emissions of pollution and increased safety of both children and staff of the facility. Results for the environment and residents of the municipality: A decrease in emissions of 27.13 tons of CO2/year was achieved and the annual electricity consumption of 32.463 MWh/year (0.05 GWh). Results for children was reduced: The applicant implemented pedagogical innovation in the project. a modern educational model based on coding. The innovative innovation intended for preschool children supports the acquisition of basic competences and skills of the student through learning programming, including improving reading, counting, enriching natural knowledge, caring for one''s own health and safety and shaping social attitudes. Results for the facility and its staff: As a result of the project, the level of employment in the enterprise was increased by 8 full-time positions. A system for monitoring the temperature of children directly at the entrance to the kindergarten building was also introduced, a F9- class air filtration system was used in the building''s mechanical ventilation units, and 20 g/h ozone generators were used in the rooms, which allow to 100% decontaminate air, toys, pillows, duvets and various types of fabrics, as well as get rid of viruses These activities significantly affected the safety of children and staff - both in physical and health aspects.
