Description
Bauservice manufactures aluminum and PVC window frames mainly for individual customers, and 40% of the volume of our production is exported to European countries. The aim of the project is to further develop large-size aluminum frames featuring very high functional parameters. The manufacture of modern aluminum windows is now based on very advanced technology that provides good thermal, acoustic insulation and anti-burglary protection. Aluminum is used in windows with very low heat transfer and in windows and doors with large glazing.
The project will involve the implementation of an original process innovation that consists in introducing a cutting and machining centre and a corner crimper to window manufacturing operations. As a result we will significantly reduce the duration of operations, save energy and raw materials and eliminate the use of harmful coolant. The new process will allow introducing large-size personalized aluminum window frames to our offering. Another product innovation will be the use of multi-chambered window profiles in order to obtain heat transfer coefficients characteristic for partition walls in accordance to energy-efficient building standards. Rigid aluminum profiles will help introduce energy-efficient electric drives for windows and doors to be operated also by persons with disabilities. The window size designed is even 6.5 m x 3.5 m. For facades where glass panes are joined together, the sizes can be even bigger, for example 12 meter wide.
The project will include investments in innovative machinery and a production hall. We will use environment friendly technologies including photovoltaics to provide electricity to the hall and energy-efficient machinery and equipment. The annual CO2 emission will be reduced by 18.17 tons and the consumption of electricity will be lower by 0.02 GWh.
Summary of project results
The project was to solve a problem that would increase the competitiveness of Bauservice on the market thanks to the implementation of the production of eco-friendly aluminum joinery with unique performance parameters and the use of innovative environmentally friendly technologies in the company.
All project tasks have been completed. A hall was built, a cutting and machining center, a corner crimping machine was purchased and photovoltaic panels were installed. Communication was also improved in line with the communication plan.
Through the implementation of the project, Bauservice achieved an innovative product in the process used in the company.
