Description

Fol-druk Flexo provides flexographic printing services on the Polish and foreign markets, mainly to large discount chains. The project is about the development and implementation of a new service of laser cutting and slitting with packaging, and a double improvement in our company’s waste management. By creating a complete production line we will gain control over the production process, which will lead to a significant increase in process efficiency, shortening of service delivery times, reduction of waste and exclusion of factors related to human error.

We are planning to minimise the environmental impact of our operations by reducing annual CO2 emissions by 14.50 tons thanks to the elimination of transport of individual production batches to be cut by a subcontractor. The purchase of a 300 W laser for film cutting will result in reducing energy consumption in the production process by approximately 10%, which will compensate for the energy demand of the new segment of the production line (cutting and packaging). We expect to reduce annual electricity consumption by 0.01 GWh per year. A measurable effect of new process will also be a reduction in the annual amount of waste (film) from 19.5 tons to 9.5 tons.

The selection of project expenditures has been made on the basis of our research team''s recommendation - the purchase of a laser, slitter and specialist software for preparing and optimising cutting and slitting processes for food packaging, and the purchase of consultancy services.
