Description

Konstalbud specialises in metal processing, manufacturing of metal components and trade in steel products. Owing to cooperation with companies from telecom and energy-related sectors, and with R&D institutions, our company has become the only Polish manufacturer of specialist large-size metal drums and reels in the sector of environmentally-friendly technologies (RES).

The project involves the construction of a large-size production hall, the purchase of an innovative technological line, the construction of a photovoltaic installation to diversify energy sources, and the purchase of software to design and manage the production technology.

The implementation of an innovative rolling technology and CNC plasma burning under the project will allow us to manufacture ultra-precise metal components (drums and reels) made of steel sheets and steel pipelines for the collection and treatment of ballast/oily water, compressed air or oils designed with the use of computer isometrics in order to protect the environment.

The launch of the new products will contribute to the development of the company: a turnover increase by over 50% and a headcount increase by 7 new jobs. The project will reduce annual CO2 emissions by over 46 tons and production waste by 20 tons year.

Summary of project results

Konstalbud is a leader in Polish producers of drums and reels for telecommunication cables and - before the project implementation - a producer of drums with a diameter of up to 4.0 m. In detail, taking into account specific technological possibilities, in the context of the owned machinery, as well as the organizational structure and resources human factors, the real number of entities that are able to supply specialized metal elements (spools and drums) for environmentally friendly industries requiring the highest quality products is limited to no more than two entities on a national scale and three internationally.

The barrier to introducing very precise metal elements made of steel sheets into the company''s offer, which can be produced as a result of the investment, is the implementation of innovative cutting technologies using a plasma-acetylene cutting system and bending using laser technology for measuring the bending radius and a unique technology on a global scale. management process control system. This implementation is possible by purchasing, among others: a plasma-acetylene burner, a rolling mill with a four-roll system and software

The project was intended to solve the problem and challenge regarding the possibility of implementing a unique technological line ensuring the production of large-size cable drums and reels as well as isometrically designed pipelines - not yet offered on the Polish market, which will be satisfied as a result of the project implementation.

Thanks to the implementation of the project, the problem of limitations in the implementation of new products on the international market was solved (spools and drums with a diameter previously unknown on the market (up to 5 and 6 m, respectively) and steel pipelines for polluted water (e.g. ballast water) and oily, compressed gases , air, etc.

As part of the project, the Applicant carried out the following investment tasks:

1. Construction of a large-scale production hall.

2. Purchase of an innovative technological line for the production of metal elements, including: an overhead crane, a sheet rolling machine, a plasma-acetylene burner, a forklift, a screw compressor, a three-roll bending machine, welding units, a ventilation system and electric heaters.

3. Construction of a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of 49.72 kW for the diversification of energy sources.

4. Purchase of software for designing and managing production technology.

As a result of the project, new products were introduced to the company''s offer:

1. Metal drum up to 6.0 m in diameter and load capacity up to 80 T for cables and wires used with renewable energy sources. The need that the product meets is to wind a section of cable about longer than standard drums - from 300 to even 1,000 m long.

2. Metal spool up to 5.0 m in diameter for cables and wires used in renewable energy energy sources. The need that the product meets is to wind a longer section of cable than standard drums - up to 1000 m long.

3. Steel pipelines for receiving and treating ballast/oily water, transporting compressed air, gases or hydraulic oils, made of stainless, acid-resistant, aluminum, brass, copper and steel sheets.

In addition, a process innovation was implemented - increasing the company''s production efficiency by introducing CNC rolling and plasma burning technology.

Thanks to the implementation of the project, the Beneficiary achieved a sustainable competitive advantage through the implementation of new products and innovative production technologies.

The implementation of the investment allowed for the implementation of innovative technology and process production of telecommunication and energy drums and reels as well as pipelines using computer isometrics. Innovative products were introduced - unparalleled reels and drums so far on the market of diameters (up to 5 and 6 m respectively) and steel pipelines for water contaminated (e.g. ballast) and oily, compressed gases, air, etc.

The investment led to increased innovation in the economy through better waste management (through the use of computer isometrics in design metal products) and reducing emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases into the atmosphere (use of energy-saving machine technologies and diversification energy company Konstalbud by installing a photovoltaic installation with a capacity of approx. 50 kWp).

As a result of the project, the company''s offer included:

Moreover, the implementation of the project enabled an increase in employment, a reduction in annual CO2 emissions, reducing the volume of annual waste from production as well as increasing turnover and company profits.
