Description

KBA Automatic operates in the line of industrial automation, providing services of PLC programming, installation of industrial machinery, equipment and supplies. As a result of the project, our company will offer innovative services of robotic production line programming for Industry 4.0. We will use industrial robots and new generation controllers to optimise automated processes. Development work under the project will focus on the application of neural networks and artificial intelligence methods and techniques in the process of programming robotic production lines. We will also acquire equipment and software necessary for the provision of the programming services (e.g. valve islands, 3D mobile scanner, 6-axis industrial robots with gripper, PLC set with modules and screen, robotic station with electrical cabinet, engineering software for programming the controllers). We place great emphasis on the application of ecological solutions under the project - the integrated energy management system in industrial robots guarantees optimisation of energy consumption, leading to energy savings of approximately 20% compared to the devices used by the company so far. The estimated reduction of CO2 emissions will amount to 3.3 tons per year.

Summary of project results

The implementation of the project had an impact on the following effects:

    • improving the company''s position on the market by diversifying the offers and settings of its basic database,
    • a group of recipients with a new, previously unserved market,
    • systematic increase in output,
    • increasing and expanding the scope of activities to include business and science (thanks to cooperation with the scientific field),
    • sustainable environmental protection through CO2 emissions and taking care of energy consumption as a result of operation.

The project was addressed to representatives and researchers of the project results, the scientific community involved in research in the field of industrial automation, young people studying in secondary and university schools (faculties related to robotics, electronics, programming), local, regional and national media, and the local community.

    • An innovative technological process was successfully developed and used in the company, enabling programming of robotic production lines using industrial robots and new generation controllers.
    • Knowledge related to the issue of neural networks was expanded. An identification and classification application was created and successfully used in the prototype. The application has been positively verified by the research unit. An internal programming standard in Python was also created.
    • The activity in the field of programming Allen Bradley PLC controllers was expanded. An internal standard for PLC programming was created.
    • Knowledge related to programming KUKA robots was expanded, which allowed the company to expand its operations. An internal standard for programming KUKA robots was created.
    • An innovative product introduced to the market in the form of a new, innovative programming service for robotic production lines
    • The company''s competitive position on the market was improved by diversifying the offer and extending it with a new service.
    • The planned position of a programmer was created, and as a result of project synergy, 5 additional people were employed as programmers
    • Staff competences have been improved.
    • Development of the scope of activities on the business-science line (thanks to cooperation with a scientific unit).
    • CO2 emissions have been reduced.

An innovative product was introduced to the market in the form of a new, innovative programming service for robotic production lines

Thanks to the implementation of this project, the company increased its competitiveness on the domestic and international market by: increasing the level of company investment in environmentally friendly solutions, the level of company innovation, acquiring new markets and increasing the level of sales. The implementation of the investment resulted in an increase in employment. A new job has been created. Employees of the Applicant''s company involved in the implementation of the project (conducting development work) and responsible for operating the new devices could improve their competences and acquire new knowledge in the area of solutions for industry 4.0. The recipients are entrepreneurs implementing Industry 4.0 solutions in their companies. Additionally, they are students and students of technical faculties who can get acquainted with the solution developed by KBA AUTOMATIC.
