Description

Jeven offers kitchen extractor hood and ventilation systems, mainly targeting the restaurants of four- and five-star hotels. It is crucial for restaurant owners that the unpleasant smell of fat does not penetrate into the restaurant room. The smells perceived by the clients often affect their decision to revisit the places.

The project aims to commercialise an innovative cyclone filter able to remove small fat fractions more efficiently by 5-8 percentage points than the devices now offered in the market. Its another advantage is shortening the time of cleaning the extractor hoods from 2 h to 0,5 h. To achieve that, the manufacturing of extractor hoods and cutting metal sheets will be transferred to our operations, and we will start the production of the improved cyclone filter with a newly purchased production line and a remote production control system. A storage hall will also be extended.

We will achieve a significant increase in material savings, lowering the level of complaints and shortening of order processing time (from 15 to 3 days). Also, solar panels and a heat pump will  bring down our CO2 emission by 85 tons, and energy consumption by 0.13 MWh.

Summary of project results

Introduction of a product innovation consisting in the implementation of an air filter (cyclone filter) into the production of noiweg. Improvement in the efficiency of the new cyclone filter 0 5-8% (for particles 6-8um),
2. Introduction of changes in the production technology of finished products (kitchen hoods),
3. Improving the energy efficiency of processes,
4. Reducing waste of materials necessary for production. The project aimed to increase the competitiveness of the company using environmentally friendly technological solutions by implementing activities leading to the implementation of technological and product innovation.

These solutions will lead to the development of economic activity, in particular an increase in revenues, profit and employment, and at the same time better waste management, energy efficiency, reduced emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere and more efficient material management.

1. Improvement in the efficiency of the new cyclone filter o 5-8% (for particles 6-8um),
2. Changes in the technological process: taking over the sheet metal processing process from external companies and producing a new cyclone filter,
3. Purchase of installations of renewable energy sources (photovoltaic installation, heat pumps),
4. The purchase of machines allowed the company to take over sheet metal processing processes from external contractors, and the company gained complete control over material management. Appropriate management of the production process has a significant impact on the amount of material waste generated.

The main goal of the project was achieved by implementing specific goals:

1) Using the results of R&D work (own and commissioned) in business activities - thanks to the research carried out, it was possible to implement a product innovation in the form of a cyclone filter with increased fat separation and a quick fat drainage function. The innovative and groundbreaking solution has improved the company''s current offer.

2) Improving and optimizing the process of producing elements of the hood system contributed, among others, to: down: • Better material management. • Improving the process and increasing the quality of final products.

3) Improved plant productivity - as a result of taking over the sheet metal cutting process by LEVEN from a subcontractor and its modification based on the use of devices that streamline work and improve the quality of the final product, there was a real improvement in the plant''s efficiency

4) Increasing energy efficiency - Achieving this goal was possible thanks to the purchase of devices that consume less energy and a photovoltaic installation and a heat pump, which will enable the production of energy from renewable energy sources for the company''s own needs.

Investing in green energy brings not only financial benefits in the form of lower energy bills, but will also promote the use of renewable energy in the region and raise pro-environmental awareness.

Indicators:

• Number of innovative technologies used in the enterprise as a result of the project (new for the enterprise) – 1 pc.

• Number of innovative products (products or services) introduced to the market (commercialized) as a result of the project – 1 pc.

• Number of innovative products (products or services) developed in the enterprise as a result of the project – 1 pc.

• Number of innovative technologies developed in the enterprise as a result of the project – 1 pc. • Number of jobs created (total) ¬– 3 pcs.

• Estimated reduction in annual CO2 emissions – 85.01 tonnes • Estimated annual increase in annual turnover – 15.30%

The project produced the following results:

1. Improvement of the efficiency parameters of the cyclone filter by 8%,

2. By taking control of the entire production process, the company will achieve:
a) higher quality of final products
b) shorter delivery times,
c) flexibility in design changes,
d) reduce the amount of waste by 15%,

3. The company will reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 85 tons per year,

4. The company created 3 new jobs. The project goal was achieved: implementation of product innovation in the company in the form of a cyclone filter (on an international scale) and technological innovation in the area of
modifying the hood manufacturing process (on an enterprise scale).

As a result of the development and introduction of the above-mentioned innovation, the stage of production of kitchen hoods and cutting sheet metal elements was transferred to the company''s own business, and the production of an improved cyclone filter was started. 3 jobs were created, employed: male, year of birth 1989, male year of birth 1977, male year of birth 2004. The effects of the project are lasting and will continue beyond the funding period The activities were targeted at the following recipient groups: - recipients of the results, i.e. companies interested in purchasing the final product in the form of a cyclone filter, - current contractors (SMEs) who will receive information about the implemented solutions, - general public, in the form of:

a) local residents, the entire country and abroad (in connection with information published on the Internet, i.e. with unlimited reach)

b) participants of selected trade fair events.
