Description
The main objective of the project is to strengthen the effective cooperation of law enforcement authorities in combating organized crime and to enhance the potential of BG officers in the implementation of the statutory tasks in the area of, among others, international cooperation, transboundary waste movement and combating organized crime.
During the project, trainings for BG officers and lecturers from the Main BG Training Centre will be conducted. Besides that, the Project Promoter will carry out renovation of training rooms and purchase of necessary equipment.
The project will be implemented by Main BG Training Centre in Koszalin. BG officers from all over Poland will participate in planned activities.
Police officers, prosecutors, judged, NGOs, experts from EUROPOL, INTERPOL, Frontex, Eurojust as well as Inspectorate of Environmental protection, the National Revenue Administration and the General Inspectorate of Road Transport will also be involved in certain activities envisioned in the Project.
Gender equality is relevant in case of this project, because Project Promoter will ensure equal access to trainings for male and female officers of BG. Indicator related to trainings will be monitor disaggregated by gender.
Summary of project results
The presence of Poland in the EU and in the Schengen area allows free movement of citizens and increases the risk of cross-border and organized crime, as well as causes the migration of criminal groups. This requires the services responsible for the security of improving the forms of action and knowledge, among others, of the methods and methods of operation of these groups. Guided by their shared responsibility for border protection, all countries and their services, on behalf of and for the benefit of all citizens, should strive to secure border security, especially the EU''s external border.
Key activities and outcomes of the project:
- seminars on cross-border crime and human trafficking;
- workshops on forced labour, cross-border waste shipments and the work of the Border Guard spokesperson, attended by almost 640 people;
- Participation in postgraduate studies "Strengthening the potential of the Border Guard in the implementation of operational and investigative activities in the area of combating international organised crime" for 40 persons;
- As part of the project, teaching space was refurbished for workshops, training courses, seminars and postgraduate studies;
- A manual of best practice has been developed in the scope of creating conditions conducive to the process of interviewing persons, in particular minors who are victims of crime, including victims of human trafficking.
Project provided trainings for Border Guars officers in a field of combating human trafficking, detection and combating illegal transboundary shipments of waste, information management in Border Guards in crisis situations. Project also helped to improve conditions in which trainings are conducted - three clasrooms were renovated and furnished.
Target groups for the project were Border Guard officers, lecturers from Border Guard Academy in Koszalin, executive personel of Border Guards.
