Project goals:
1. Development of the competences of management staff in the education sector in the Zawiercie district (Śląskie Voivodeship) based on experience and good practices from Norway,.
2. Reducing economic and social differences through professional development of the project participants
3.Strengthening bilateral relations in the fiels of education between Poland and Norway through the contact of Norwegian experts with Polish participants.
4. Strengthening the human potential and knowledge base in Poland through workshops and training carried out by Norwegian experts.
In cooperation with Bjerkaker Learning Lab (BLL),NGO from Oslo, which manages projects in education sector, we created program of workshops consisting of theoretical and practical part. Based on the program, management workers develop their competences in the field of project management, their role in system of education and get to know the most important norwegian experiences that can be implemented in polish conditions.
We will organize a 5-day workshop, consisting of theoretical and practical parts. Workshops will be carried out in a stationary form, 8 hours a day. Before starting intensive training, participants will complete a competency test to check their level of management skills. After the training is completed, another test will take place, allowing to determine the increase in the competences of the participants after participation in the training. Participants will receive a certificate confirming the acquired competence. Participants: Project participants (PP) will be: Directors and Deputy Directors of primary and secondary schools from the communes of the Zawiercie district who carry out educational activities for young people on a daily basis. They will be people with min. 5 years of experience in management, who are ready to develop their competencies.
Summary of project results
Before the intensive training in Poland, 2 preparatory meetings with the trainer via Zoom were held and one
organizational meeting before his scheduled arrival. During the meetings, participants’ descriptions
of problems in managing an educational institution were discussed, their professional profiles, the trainer was introduced with the
functioning of education in Poland and its greatest challenges. The participants’ problems by conducting a needs survey via e-mail were collected. Before the
training, the participants completed competence tests using Google forms. The maximum number of points to be
obtained was 15. 10 people got a result of 8 points, 3 people got a result of 10 points, 5 people got a result of 5
points, 2 people got a result of 11 points.Each of the participants was very motivated to participate in the training,
contact with them was very efficient. As a result a 5-day intesive training concerning management in education was implemented. During the workshops, lecture techniques, discussions, group
exercises, case studies, debates and integration games were used. During the intensive training, all the actions
necessary to achieve the project assumptions and all indicators were undertaken. During the first day, we agreed with the
participants the rules of work during the whole week, wrote the contract, discussed the issues of project and team
management methods, team development, Tuckman typology. During the second day, group work was practiced
and the development of knowledge acquired the previous day, practicing it in a practical form. On the 3rd day of the
training, we introduced kanban, pull and push management methods, practicing them in practice. Day 4 was dedicated to agile management, agile pm, lean management. 5th day was devoted to networking in education. creating a
cooperation plan.Each day of the workshop ended with an evaluation, and on the last day we conducted
competence tests, evaluation of the entire project, and handed out certificates.
