Description

LearningLab is a project whose main goal is the professional development of the management and employees (4 people in total), the exchange of experiences in the field of informal education and the implementation of best practices and experience between the NOVA Foundation and the Icelandic organization Mimir.
Apart from such elements as:
1. getting to know the Icelandic model of informal education through observation of educational activities (joabshadowing)
2.strengthening the competences of the management staff,
3.exchange of experiences and best practices.
4. development of quality culture of the eduaction.
The Foundation wants to create a tailor-made educational offer for migrants, mainly coming from the east.
The Foundation, based on its own experience in the field of informal education, sees a huge gap in the offer addressed to migrants. In 2018-2020, about 100 people who came to Poland for work took part in all trainings carried out by the Foundation. All these people were trained by the Foundation in the field of vocational training, obtaining appropriate certificates, and thus were able to start work. However, the need for training made us realize that we do not have an offer tailored to the needs of people coming to Poland from across the eastern border. We hope that the exchange of experiences will allow us to implement standards in working with foreigners, both on the Polish and Icelandic side.
The planned visit will not only affect the development of both organizations, the development of staff, or the introduction of new innovative methods of working with migrants, but also aims to establish long-term cooperation in the field of subsequent international projects. Thanks to the Partnership meetings, new ideas will be generated and the cooperation will result in new projects in the field of education.

Summary of bilateral results

IDEA FOR COOPERATION:Cooperation with the MIMIR organization was established thanks to the forwarding of a contact and a recommendation from the Polish association Enterprise Europe Network. What resulted was an online familiarization meeting with the staff of the MIMIR organization, presentation of the main outline of the project and agreement to cooperate.COURSE OF COOPERATION: From the first contact, the cooperation between NOVA Foundation and MIMIR went very well. Both organizations were interested in learning as much as possible about the partner organization, its system of operation and educational offerings. During the period when we established cooperation, MIMIR hired a Polish woman as one of the project coordinators, because they realized how important it was to target the educational offer to the significant Polish community living in Iceland. Our project and our cooperation was both very valuable to us and to them.COMMUNICATION:Communication with the Foreign Partner was conducted in the form of: online (Zoom, Google meet), phone, email. CONTINUED COOPERATION: The partners signed on 09.06.2022 an agreement on further mutual cooperation between NOVA Foundation and MIMIR (MOU).
