Summary of project results

The Study Visit carried out at Tækniskólinn in Reykjavik is aimed at increasing the quality of ZSOT''s work by observing the work of an Icelandic secondary vocational school, participating in lessons, meeting with teachers and students related to the topic of organizing various forms of education. The project responds to the needs of developing the school and improving its work. The theme of the visit is part of long-term activities related to teacher professional development. Determining how others work (tools, methods, forms, organizational solutions) will allow an objective assessment of one''s own resources and capabilities, which in the long run will result in higher student performance and the realization of labor market needs. Before leaving for the study visit, a schedule was developed, which was in line with the goals of the project and the capabilities of the school. During the visit there were meetings with the management and staff of the partner school, a tour of the school, meetings with teachers, observation of Icelandic language classes for foreigners and the basics of information technology. Analysis of equipment resources was possible during visits to vocational laboratories (including IT, ICT, hairdressing, electrical, mechanical and metallurgical, hydraulic, navigation, carpentry). The participants of the visit learned about the innovative K2 unit run as a pedagogical innovation for students with special talents. During meetings with Icelandic teachers, they discussed practical aspects of teaching (preparing for classes, grading, enforcing student activity and attendance in remote classes).

Summary of bilateral results

There was also an informal meeting with teachers, during which proposals for further cooperation were made. Cooperation with the partner institution was carried out in an exemplary manner.
