Description
The project involves start of the cooperation during a study visit at the University of Iceland and the National University Library. Goals of the cooperation are to concern joint further initiatives between the Institute of Women''s Studies and disseminating research in the field of women''s (history) and an education partner in Iceland. The cooperation will result in the observation of good practices that will constitute a model for the educational, didactic and scientific development of the Institute''s staff in Poland. Through the visit, the competences of Polish participates will be raised and a plan for further institutional cooperation will be developed. The Icelandic partner has competences and knowledge in the area which the Institute of Women''s Studies wants to improve. At the University of Iceland Library there is a Women''s History Archive, which is also going to establish an Institute for Women''s Studies. The visit will give a chance for consultations on the methodology of establishing such an Archive, as well as the rules for completing, collecting, processing and sharing the collection. During the visit, the Polish participants learn about the area of a library and archive''s functioning to adopt good practices in Poland in the institutional development of the Polish organization. It is also planned to present a lecture at the University of Iceland about the development of our Polish organization research and its dissemination within our Institution and individuals conducting research at the Institute of Women''s Studies (law, history, culture).
Summary of project results
The project familiarized the Icelandic institution Landsbokasafn Islands Haskolabokasafn (National and University Library of Iceland). The scope of activities of the Institute of Women''s Studies, future directions of development were presented, and information on the experience of the Icelandic partner for the development directions of the Institute was acquired. During the workshop, the basic directions of the joint educational and scientific project were discussed. The resources and functioning of the National Library of the University of Iceland and the Women''s History Archive were learned during the visit. The project was implemented according to schedule. In agreement with the partner, the original date of the study visit was changed to October 16-22, 2022 (original date: November 13-19, 2022). The activities undertaken included the study visit of 4 people from ISK to Iceland. Substantive and organizational support of the Icelandic partner was provided throughout the study visit in accordance with the approved schedule.
Summary of bilateral results
Organizational and substantive support from the host institution took place throughout the project. The Icelandic partner and representatives of the Institute contacted the Institute many times before the start of the visit, specifying the details of the visit (logistic, organizational and content-related). Substantive and organizational support was provided throughout the study visit in accordance with the adopted schedule.
