Summary of project results
The goal of the project was to improve the quality and alignment of vocational education in Gdynia with the current needs of the labor market. The goal was achieved by strengthening cooperation with employers, shaping pro-entrepreneurial attitudes among participants, developing professional competencies of staff responsible for vocational education, incorporating new technologies and teaching methods into vocational education, developing vocational counseling and mentoring, exchanging experience among partners, and activities disseminating vocational education. The pandemic and restrictions on school activities resulted in a temporary inability to implement project activities. Thanks to the implementation of countermeasures (flexible scheduling, introduction of online classes, intensification of activities with maximum involvement of the applicant''s and partner''s resources, suspension of project implementation for 3 months) it was possible to finalize all planned project activities. As a result of the project implementation, all the planned results were achieved: an analysis of 4 vocational education programs in the context of the needs of the local labor market was created, vocational education programs for 4 professions were improved, an innovative tool (software) was developed to help students plan their professional development and careers. An innovative method of vocational education possible to implement in Gdynia vocational schools was also created, vocational counselors from Gdynia vocational schools were trained in modern vocational counseling and guidance, and teaching staff (105 teachers) were trained in the innovative method of vocational education. In addition, a mentoring program for 12 students of Gdynia vocational schools was developed and implemented. During the project implementation, 3 dissemination events were organized. Cooperation with the project partner throughout the project implementation period was successful. The realized project results will be used to further improve the quality of the offer of Gdynia''s vocational schools, which will be supervised by the project management team on the applicant''s side. The establishments covered by the project, in cooperation with the leading authority and employers, will continue activities related to adjusting the vocational education offer to the needs of the labor market. The project results (especially those related to vocational counseling) will be used by educational institutions.
