The project "DEVELOPMENT OF VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AIMING AT SOCIAL INCLUSION – POLISH-SCANDINAVIAN EXVHANGE OF EXPERIENCE AND GOOD PRACTICE" was prepared by Municipality of the City of Torun and will be implemented in partnership with Fitjar vidaregåande skule in Norway and IÐAN Education Centre in Iceland from 1 March 2020 to 28 February 2021. The main objective of the proj. is to raise the professional and language competences of 25 representatives of management staff and teachers of Torun and Scandinavian VET institutions in the field of dual vocational education methodology with the use of ICT through participation in training mobility to partner institutions in Norway, Iceland and Poland over a period of 12 months. Within the framework of the proj., 2 project meetings and 3 training meetings of management staff and teachers of VET schools from partner countries will be implemented. The result of the proj. will be the publication of a guide to good practices in inclusive education.
Summary of project results
The project "Development of vocational education aiming at social inclusion – polish-scandinavian exchange of experience and good practice", was developed in response to the educational needs of management, teachers and vocational school students, especially SEN students at GM Torun''s partner institutions and was implemented in partnership with Fitjar vidaregåande skule in Norway and IÐAN Education Centre in Iceland. The main goal of the project
was to improve the professional and linguistic competencies of 45 (current number ) / (25 original number recorded in the application form) representatives of management and n-teachers/professional instructors of the
Torun and Scandinavian VET institutions in the field of methodology of dual vocational education with the use of ICT
through participation in foreign training mobility to partner institutions in Norway and Iceland, as well as in
Poland. The objectives of the project were consistent with the priority areas of the Education program, in terms of, developing inclusive education

The project recruited 45 project participants: 32 people from Poland, 8 people from Iceland and 5 people from Norway.
Two project meetings were held in Torun, Poland, in October 2021 and August 2022, as well as 3 training mobilities of project participants:
- 30.03-01.04.2022 in Iceland
- 18-20.05.2022 in Norway
- 31.05 - 02.06.2022 in Poland.
Participation in the training mobility of managers and teachers of vocational subjects from partner institutions contributed to the improvement of their competence in the field of methodology of dual vocational education with the use of ICT of students with special educational needs and knowledge of vocational English. The result of the project is a handbook of good practices of inclusive education developed in Polish and English, by all partner institutions, available in electronic version on the project website of Polish and Scandinavian partner institutions.
Summary of bilateral results
The prepared project was implemented with funds from the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism - Education Program Component III, because one of the objectives of the project was to learn about the Scandinavian model of vocational education taking into account inclusive education, so the Beneficiary invited two Scandinavian educational institutions - Fitjar Vidaregåande Skule in Norway and IÐAN Education Centre in Iceland - to participate in the project. Training mobilities were organized at each of the partner institutions, during which project participants - management staff and teachers of vocational subjects - were able to learn about and compare the Scandinavian vocational education offer with the Polish one, forms of cooperation with employers, the use of ICT, methods of working with vocational school students, including those with disabilities, social maladjustment and at risk of maladjustment. Project participants from partner institutions also exchanged experiences and good practices in the field of inclusive education in vocational education, learned about the didactic base for practical training, jointly prepared a handbook of good practices for inclusive education in vocational education, and improved their competence in vocational English. Management and teachers from vocational schools in Toruń have established cooperation with Scandinavian vocational training institutions, which may result in new projects in the near future, especially in the field of vocational internships for students.
