The importance of the project is expressed in the fact that vocational education in Poland has enriched its offer with an innovative, inspired by good practices from Iceland and Norway, tested and ready to implement educational model and materials in the field of teaching and learning green entrepreneurship in the sense of caring for sustainable development of society.
Through project cooperation, the staff of Polish organizations and young people got acquainted with good practices and know-how in the area of environmentally friendly business solutions used in donor countries, then young people were involved in the educational process - working on environmentally friendly business ideas, based on inspirations drawn from Nordic countries.
As part of the results of intellectual work, the project partners jointly developed an innovative model for educating young people in the field of creating environmentally friendly businesses, along with a library of modern educational resources with ready-made lesson plans, educational modules, articles, interviews, and educational films.
Despite the implementation of the project during the Covid-19 pandemic, all planned project activities were implemented. As a result, all the planned indicators were implemented and the project objectives were achieved.
Summary of bilateral results
The main aspects of the consultations included the use of creative thinking methods in teaching, especially in the area of business, entrepreneurship taking into account multi-track analysis. Project participants took part in a series of training sessions organised by Newschool, during which they became acquainted with a new teaching tool (the MIRO programme), which can be used in stationary as well as remote work. Trainings were an excellent opportunity to learn about technological innovations, which perfectly enrich the educational process, what is more, they give wide opportunities for integration and dialogue. Newschool conducted Vision Backcasting workshops for staff working on the model. This influenced that the most important messages shaping the project and its results were:- seeing the learning process as a creative collaboration between its participants;- building teams that inspire and complement each other;- education should be engaging, creative and not shy away from risk. The Icelandic partner pointed to innovation as an overriding factor that is required to build the model properly. A meeting with the director of the innovation centre FabLab was particularly influential: inspiration, mobilisation and spreading positive role models is the key to successful implementation of the model. Education needs to keep up with new trends in entrepreneurship, without this connection it is impossible to educate effectively.
