The project "Healthy Lifestyle - Thinking Globally, Acting Locally" is addressed to headteachers and teachers of primary and secondary schools implementing the program "Health Promoting School". Schools promoting health are the institutions that implement health promotion programme based on a multi-faceted approach to health (physical, mental, social and spiritual aspects). The target group of the project will be headteachers and teachers from schools awarded with the National Certificate of the Health Promoting School for a longstanding health promotion activities (30 schools). The diagnosis (2018/2019) carried out in the above-mentioned schools showed the necessity of training in the field of healthy eating and various forms of physical activity based on practical solutions implemented in the Norwegian school system. As a part of the project, participants will take part in a 5-day workshop and an open training as final part of the project.

Summary of project results

Day 1 - Commencement of the training within the project Healthy lifestyles - we think globally, act locally presentation of the training aims and objectives to the participants.Within the introductory module to the training Health education in the Norwegian school system and contemporary/civilisational threats to pupil''s health.Day 2 - The participants started work in two parallel groups:Health and nutrition Westeng,Physical activity Kilanowska.The teachers became familiar with how health education is implemented in the Norwegian school system in the area of physical activity and healthy nutrition. Day 3 - Participants continued to work in parallel groups:Health and nutrition Westeng,Physical activity Kilanowska.Day 3 of the workshop focused on the promotion of healthy lifestyles in Norwegian schools.The teachers became acquainted with practical examples of implementation of the promotion of healthy nutrition and physical activity in Norwegian schools.Day 4 - The participants continued working in parallel groups:Health and nutrition Westeng,Physical activity Kilanowska.This day was connected with the topic of implementation of health prevention at Norwegian school.D5The official summary of the project training, was focused on the presentation of materials developed and examples of good practice by selected schools implementing the Health Promoting School programme in the Podkarpackie voivodeship.J.Kilanowska was the first to summarise the work in the Physical activity group, presenting successive days of work of headmasters and teachers within the training.The effect of the group''s work are developed programmes, projects and scenarios for the promotion of physical activity based on solutions implemented in Norwegian schools. Next, S.Westeng discussed the work of the Health and Nutrition group. As part of the training, the participants, under her guidance, have developed materials promoting the principles of healthy nutrition, based on the solutions applied at Norwegian schools.
