The project concerns the implementation of a 3-day job-shadowing study visit for 5 people: 4 teachers and 1 director of the Warsaw Montessori Non-Public Primary School (WMS). to Norlights Montessoriskole Stavanger (NMS) - Norwegian primary school. The aim of the project is to strengthen the competence of the WMS staff in the field of preventive healthcare, care for physical, mental and social health of students (inclusive education), as well as observation of working methods and exchange of experience in education management. During the visit, our staff will observe programs and methods of conducting classes and preventive programs for pupils used in the NMS school. The principal will become acquainted with the Norwegian model of organization and ensuring high quality. The result will be the implementation of the observed education methods incorporating WMS into practice, as well as the involvement of the NMS school in the student exchange project.

Summary of project results

The project concerns the implementation of a 3-day job-shadowing study visit of 5 employees of the Non-public Elementary School Warsaw Montessori School (WMS) to Norlights Montessoriskole Stavanger (NMS) - a Norwegian elementary school. The goal of the project is to strengthen the competence of WMS staff in preventive health care, caring for the physical, mental and social health of students (including inclusive education), as well as to observe working methods and exchange experiences in management in education. Each day of the visit, participants had the opportunity to observe the work of Norlights Montessoriskole teachers in grades 1-10 during school and extracurricular activities in the field of applied methods of health prevention, caring for the physical, mental and social health of students (including inclusive education). Participants of the visit met with school psychologist and educator Norlights Montessoriskole, who presented and discussed the applied methods of inclusive education. The project was implemented according to schedule. Before leaving for the visit, language preparation was carried out. The 5-hour language class covered specialized Montessori vocabulary and was taught by a native speaker. After returning from the visit, the participants filled out an evaluation questionnaire, in which they referred to their satisfaction with participation in the mobility, satisfaction of the host institution with the possibility of exchanging experiences, mutual level of trust, acquired new knowledge and the possibility of applying it in their current work, as well as future cooperation with the partner school from Norway. The objectives of the project and the study visit were realized to the maximum. In the area of inclusive education, the participants had the opportunity to observe classes and specific methods of work ensuring the inclusion of students with educational deficits and disabilities.

Summary of bilateral results

Project promoter evaluated the cooperation with the Host Institution very well. One of the most important goals of the visit was to establish direct contact and become acquainted with the management and teachers of Norlights Montessoriskole Stavanger. In the future, the schools intend to cooperate in further educational projects.
