The visit aims at familiarizing with Icelandic model of career guidance and transferring its elements into career office''s operations, foreign students support programme and the scheme of post-graduate study on career guidance. Currently there is no international post-graduate study and the foreign students support system needs improvement. The participants will be 2 employees of International Cooperation Department. Actions taken will allow to create a plan of internationalization of career guidance. The methodology applied – embraces workshops and the elements of accompanying internship. Expected results: the staff prepared to work based on the created plan related to Icelandic model of career guidance. The project''s influence will be visible in modernization of foreign students support programmes, operations within career office and post-graduate studies offer. Long term profits will encompass career office''s employees, foreign students and post-graduate studies listeners.

Summary of project results

The aim of the study trip was to get to know the Icelandic model of career guidance. The project was carried out according to the approved scope and schedule. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project period was postponed twice.
As part of the project, a 6-day study trip to the host institution “MUNDO International Consulting” in Iceland was organised with 2 participants from the beneficiary institution. The recipient described the cooperation with the host institution as good. The project enabled the universities to develop their career orientation and to expand an international component, the adoption of the solutions applied in Iceland leads to innovations in the system of support for students to take up employment, enables the establishment of international postgraduate studies and enriches the work of the Career Office with new opportunities, ideas and projects. Monitoring was carried out on an ongoing basis.
As part of the information and promotion activities, the recipient maintains a subpage of the project and has placed information posters about the project at the university. Meetings were organised to disseminate the results of the visit with representatives of the different departments at the University for Postgraduate Studies, Quality of Learning, the Career Office and the Centre for International Students. In addition, a “Plan for the Internationalisation of Career Orientation” was developed during the visit, which is to be used in the design of the program for international students, the work of the Career Office and the development of international postgraduate courses.

Summary of bilateral results

The project enabled the universities to develop their career orientation and to expand an international component, the adoption of the solutions applied in Iceland leads to innovations in the system of support for students to take up employment, enables the establishment of international postgraduate studies and enriches the work of the Career Office with new opportunities, ideas and projects. During the visit, a “Plan for the Internationalisation of Career Orientation” was developed, which is to be used in the development of the programme for international students, the work of the Career Office and the development of international postgraduate courses. In the future, mobility of other University employees and visits of representatives of the Host Institution to the Beneficiary Institution are planned.
