Summary of project results

The objective of the study visit was to increase the skills of the staff of the beneficiary’s institution by actively participating in observing lessons in Icelandic schools on the practical application of the proprietary teaching method Play To Learn More (PTLM). This method is based on the use of movement, play and senses to develop key competences and thinking, learning and memory processes.
The project was carried out according to the approved scope and schedule. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project period was changed three times. As part of the project, a 3-day study trip to the reception institution “Leikur ad Iaera” in Iceland was organised with 5 participants from the beneficiary institution. During the visit, the participants learned many exercises of the Play To Learn More and SmartEnglish methods and how to introduce them. The recipient described the cooperation with the host institution as very good. Monitoring was carried out on an ongoing basis. As regards the long-term impact of the project, the methods, in particular PTLM and SmartEnglish, will be introduced into the educational offerings of the beneficiary’s institution in order to motivate pupils to learn, as well as a method that works with pupils with special learning needs. In this way, all teachers who are willing to learn these methods can have the opportunity to do so. In addition, following joint discussions between the institutions, it was agreed to continue the collaboration and to carry out another project on learning outside the classroom.
After taking part in the study trip, the beneficiary organised 4 follow-up conferences for headmasters, teachers and representatives of the governing bodies of the Opole Voivodeship, at which, among other things, exemplary exercises learned during the study trip were presented. In addition, a project blog, an FB profile and an article for Quartalnik. edu were created as part of the dissemination of the project.
