Description

The subject of the investment is the revaluation of the historic part of the Srebrna Góra Fortress, a historic complex of fortification works, equipped with brick buildings, located at 4 Kreta Str. in Srebrna Gora.

The project leader is Twierdza Srebrna Gora Sp. z o.o. The owner of the company is the Stoszowice commune. The Twierdza Srebrna Góra Sp. z o.o. has legal personality and independently conducts financial management on the basis of the Accounting Act. The Twierdza Srebrna Góra Sp. z o.o. is the entity managing the Srebrna Góra Fortress, which was ordained by the President of the Republic of Poland as a Monument of History.
The Fjellugla Kompetanse AS is the project partner. It is a non-profit organization in the form of a limited liability company The organization organizes courses and training for adults, including training in old craft techniques. The Partner''s participation in the Project will concern the implementation of soft actions.
The project in question is covered by state aid rules.
Investment aid calculated for the project was used for the following actions:
• conservation and restoration works as well as construction works at immovable monuments and in their surroundings for the needs of cultural activities (together with supervision over these works)
• purchase of equipment for conducting cultural activities and protecting cultural heritage (only necessary to achieve the assumed goal);
The operating aid calculated for the project was used for the following actions:
• cultural and educational offer
• conferences, meetings, events,
• digitization of movable monuments, book collections, archival materials and objects
• trainings related to the scope of the project, including - among others - vocational trainings, issues related to cultural
entrepreneurship, management,
• promotion of the project
• Management of the project.

Summary of project results

The urban layout of the town of Srebrna Góra is dominated by the Srebrna Góra Fortress, a fortress complex that is an outstanding example of an 18th-century mountain pass stronghold.  The Srebrna Góra Fortress is a unique monument on a European scale due to its location at an altitude of over 650 m above sea level and covering an area of ​​106 ha, which makes it one of the largest mountain fortresses in Europe and the highest Historical Monument in Poland.

Title: Restoration for cultural and educational purposes of degraded and inaccessible parts of the Srebrna Góra Fortress Historical Monument refers to both the scope of the project and its purpose. Thanks to the restoration and preservation of the functional values ​​of cultural heritage, conditions have been created for the development of a new educational and cultural offer, previously limited due to the condition of the infrastructure.

Apart from protecting valuable cultural and natural heritage, the implementation of the project allowed for a significant increase in access to unique elements of the fortifications, and thus provided new functions useful for culture and education. The Srebrna Góra Fortress, despite its unique location and unique architecture of complex defensive structures, has so far been the untapped tourist potential of the region and Poland.

The idea of ​​the project was to strive to preserve this unique object of cultural heritage for future generations and to create space for new forms of cultural and educational activities. Thanks to the investment, other parts of the facility that were previously inaccessible were made available to visitors.

The following infrastructure activities, conservation and restoration works and construction works were carried out

 - communication between defensive works was restored, 4 fortress bridges were rebuilt

- construction and conservation works were carried out, including adaptation to new exhibition spaces, cultural activities and workshops - restoration and adaptation of the Upper Lazaret and the Kawalier Bastion

Additionally, during the project implementation, numerous cultural events were held, addressed to various recipient groups, and training related to the scope of the project was conducted, including - among others - professional training,

Equipment for conducting cultural activities and protecting cultural heritage was purchased for the newly made available spaces, including educational equipment and replicas of historical utility devices.

Increasing the efficiency of the use of cultural heritage. Increased participation of the local community and tourists in the cultural and educational offer of the Srebrna Góra Fortress. Increasing the quality and impact of the cultural offer of Srebrna Góra and the Lower Silesian Voivodeship.

Impact on local and regional economy:

-creating the labor market

-creating a cultural industry and free time.

-development of the cultural sector by organizing new forms of participation in culture in the Srebrna Góra Fortress - concerts, workshops, travel meetings.

-using cultural heritage for educational purposes;

-meeting tourist needs;

-meeting recreational needs;

-improving the aesthetics of the space;

- preserving the Historical Monument for future generations

- Number of 3 jobs created.

- training related to the scope of the project was conducted, including - among others - vocational training, a total of 19 vocational training courses for current and new employees of the Fortress with a total of 528 training hours, 2 study trips and 36 hours of non-professional training for the local community and the institutional and business environment

-During the implementation of the project, numerous cultural events were held, addressed to various groups of recipients. The form of activities has also been designed to meet the diverse needs of people using the cultural and educational offer.

Summary of bilateral results

The main results of the cooperation are:- increasing practical knowledge on preserving craft heritage - training was conducted with the participation of the partner on heritage protection, the functioning of the institution, implementation of the cultural offer and cooperation with the local community- a study visit to Norway and a return visit to the Srebrna Góra Fortress were conducted - showing the effectiveness of the implemented activities, including the cultural offer, international cooperation was developed to more effectively implement the project objectives and maintain indicators- a teleconference was held once a quarter, during which the activities undertaken in the project were discussed and experiences were exchangedSince the partner is an organization that organizes courses and training for adults, including training in old craft techniques, it additionally shows in an exemplary way how to cooperate with the local community, further joint activities are possible. The project resulted in establishing valuable relationships. It is possible that in subsequent partner projects or due to the continuous development of the Fortress with the presentation of traditional crafts, we will return to specific joint activities. In the future, it is planned to recreate the brewery, bakery, laboratories, and fortress pharmacy in the Fortress. This requires the support and necessary knowledge of an entity such as Fjellugla Kompetanse AS Tynset.
