Description
The subject of the project are conservation works on the cloisters and furnishing the ground floor space of the Palace in Kamieniec Ząbkowicki as well as carrying out construction and conservation works aimed at developing the area of the Palace''s garden terraces by restoring the original composition of the terraces. The planned actions are a milestone in the entire revitalization of the Marianna Oranska’s palace and park complex, as they will help revive the building and implement new forms of sightseeing.
Summary of project results
Due to the poor state of preservation of the building, the Palace of Marianne of Orange required a number of measures to protect the structure from further degradation and restore its former qualities. Like other elements of the complex, the park also required conservation care. The park, which served as a community walking and recreation park, had devastated garden terraces, dilapidated access roads and walking paths, neglected fountains, and volunteer and wild plantings had obliterated the romantic composition of the park. The work and conservation works carried out prior to the Project did not stop the devastation, a lot of work was still needed to be able to bring the palace-park complex to its former state and give it new cultural functions. Implementation of the Project, and thus the elimination of threats to the historic substance of the objects and the revitalization of the monument, along with elements of historic park and garden architecture, had a significant impact on the creation of an attractive cultural and educational offer for all groups of customers. The project of revitalization of the garden and adaptation works in the palace, complemented by a comprehensive cultural offer, were to stimulate local tourism will be an important mechanism for the development of the municipality.
The subject of the project was conservation work in the area of the palace cloisters - the execution of excavations and protection of the historical substance, works including construction and conservation of garden terraces, along with the opening of historical passageways - roads, paths, restoration of fountains, sculptures and small architecture. In addition, the historic well in the palace''s courtyard was restored, and equipment necessary for new tourist and cultural activities was purchased. During the implementation of the project, a number of training sessions were held for the staff of the Beneficiary and the Partner - the Municipal Cultural Center, cooperation with the Foreign Partner was established and deepened, and a new cultural offer was introduced, which will be developed over the life of the project.
As part of the project, the area of Marianne of Orange''s Palace in Kamieniec was renovated and revitalized. The completed work created a new, attractive and friendly space for tourist activities and the implementation of a new cultural offer. As part of the project, 135 people were trained and 20 professional training courses were implemented. A new offer of cultural activities was introduced - by the end of the project, 567 activities took place, which will continue during the project''s sustainability period.
Cooperation with the Foreign Partner allowed the exchange of experience in the management of the cultural site and the creation of a new cultural offer. Bilateral study tours were also held, where Partners were able to present and discuss the nuances of work in the area they are involved in. Both sides declared their intention to continue working together after the end of the project.
The new space and equipment responds to the needs of multiple audiences: tourists, the local community, local organizations, the elderly and disabled, or families with children.
