Summary of project results
Willa Waleria is the work of Rufin Morozowicz. He directed architectural suggestions and was the investor. The villa was built in 1910 for his wife Waleria from Kotowicz, and it owes its name to her. Since 1982, the building has been listed in the register of monuments of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. The project aims to create a new space for cultural and educational activities. Willa Waleria will become a place of interdisciplinary approach to culture. Various trainings, workshops and cultural events based on the fields of architecture and crafts will be held here. In addition, the center will promote the work of Jan Szczepkowski - an outstanding Polish sculptor who runs the Municipal School of Decorative Arts and Painting in Warsaw.
The planned works include a wide range of renovation, construction and conservation activities in the historic Willa Waleria in Milanówek. This historic building could not be used until now due to its poor technical condition.
The implementation of the project is based on social consultations with residents and non-governmental organizations. As a result, the way of using the building and the scope of the new cultural and educational offer were determined.
The center''s activities will take into account the needs of different age groups and people with limited access to culture, including people with disabilities.
Currently, the Villa is a place intended for local and supra-local activities related to broadly understood culture and education. In addition to the permanent exhibition of Jan Szczepkowski''s works, sculpture, ceramics and woodcarving workshops are held in the artist''s restored studio.
