Summary of project results

The main goal of the project was to improve the access to theatre plays in scope both local (the Podlasie region)and global(Norway,European countries). Thanks to the execution of the project,a new, innovative theatre show was produced with high potential for international success that combines music, theatre, dance and performance arts which will premiere in PL and NO.The project will be realised in partnership with Studium Actoris in NO. The partnership included cooperation in the following areas:1.artistic (the show  was the sum of artistic undertakings and joint experience of PL and NO artists,as well as representatives of ethnic minorities of Podlasie)2. substantice (the Partner shared their knowledge regarding cultural entrepreneurship),3.PR (cooperation on promotion, exchange of international contacts), 4.financial(participation of both sides in the form of own contributions),5.administrative(joint preparations and project management).

As part of the „Next Stop – Art Close to People / Następna Stacja – Sztuka blisko Ludzi” project, an innovative theatre-dance show was  created, inspired by Chopin’s music. Improvisation was created based on Chopin’s nocturnes and preludes, less recognisable among younger generations. Benefciary invited actors from various countries, aged from 27+ to 50+, to cooperate. It was a joint project with Studium Actoris from Norway. Chopin’s music was expressed via dance. During workshops, artists created improvised performances inspired by Chopin’s music, translating it into the language of the stage. This was b the key element of international cooperation; every actor felt the music differently, some were only vaguely familiar with it or may not know it at all. The project allowed them to get familiar with it in the most valuable manner – without preconceptions, expectations and cultural connotations – allowing for the freshest possible interpretation. The actors got to know each other via practical actions on strage and inspire one another: they learnt to use their existing acting abilities and to incorporate new working methods.

The project add edvalue by the necessity of combining individual movement with the rhythm of the tango. The Norwegian artists had shown interest in cooperation precisely because it requires verifying one’s pre-existing skillset and creating a role on the basis of movement and the musical layer of the show.

The main results of the project were:

creation of a new artistic show (script),video recording of the show for the purpose of playback on a website, audio recording of the soundtrack of the show,2 development strategies (cultural entrepreneurship and audience development)that made public on a website so that other entities may take advantage of them.

Results in the written form were translated into English and Norwegian. The project was promoted in PL,NO and ENG.

An important result for Association was the increase in professional skills of workers, actors and volunteers in terms of acting ability, stage art, business management in culture and cultural entrepreneurship. The Beneficiary gained a professional team, equipped with new knowledge and tools needed to properly manage the new show;training sessions and increase in human resources planned as part of the project will prepare us for including the show into our repertoire on a permanent basis. The project served to include two new target groups: house-bound(thanks to online streaming)as well as blind(thanks to audiodescription). The project  included national and ethnic minorities in the form of audience development strategy consultation with the minorities’representatives, the incorporation of elements of regional culture into the show as well as hiring artists of varying backgrounds.The„PL+NO/”TAŃCZ!”show is a theatrical innovation:the artistic work is based on artistic brainstorming inspired by an innovative combination of Chopin’s music with tango; the set design was used new, hitherto unknown solutions (breaking the barrier between the stage and the audience with the use of a mirror),the show was equipped with audiodescription and assumed only extra-verbal expression.
