Description

The Stanisław Brzozowski Association runs a research institute, a publishing house and a portal krytykapolityczna.pl, as well as 2 local socio-cultural centres, networking and supporting other organisations and initiatives in Cieszyn and Warsaw.
The association has been working in the field and for the benefit of civic activism for 20 years: in 2002 it published the first issue of the journal, and in 2008 it created a network of Krytyka Polityczna clubs in over a dozen cities and towns in Poland. These clubs, serving as incubators of open and equalitarian thinking, have educated hundreds of activists who today form other organisations and are active in politics at various levels, including parliamentary politics. Krytyka Polityczna is the largest opinion-forming left-wing online journal in Poland (visited by 375,000 users per month) , a publishing house that publishes 25-35 books a year on political, social and economic thought, as well as his/herstories. Since 2012, the organisation has been running the Institute of Political Criticism, which carries out research on the challenges of climate change, its social and economic consequences, social trends in the world of values and their political consequences, as well as the interdependence between culture, economy and democracy in the context of contemporary civilisational challenges for Poland.
As part of the organisational grant, the association plans to support organisations and informal groups from all over Poland, led by young people (especially those working for human rights and environmental protection), infrastructural support for experienced organisations without their own infrastructure, intensifying cooperation with other organisations, movements, and representatives of civic initiatives on KrytykaPolityczna.pl, and spreading equality and progressive attitudes among Polish citizens, as well as further development of fundraising and introduction of new IT solutions.
