Description

The aim of the research project is to develop a reservation and payment system for rehabilitation courses and service providers, supplemented with additional functions.

Summary of project results

The Project (“Development of a new product – “Reservation and payment system for rehabilitation treatment and service provision, supplemented with additional functions”) was needed to put into production a new product of the Project Implementer`s company (SIA “FOREN Technology”), becoming more climate-neutral in the production process and in the product life cycle, and reducing an environmental impact. The challenges the Project set out to address were related to implementing a new product, using new technologies, and cooperating with the Project Partner (Norwegian company).

As part of the Project, a new product was introduced into production: A reservation and payment system for rehabilitation treatment and service provision, supplemented with additional functions.

The aim of the project is to develop Reservation and payment system for rehabilitation treatment and service provision, supplemented with additional functions. The prototype hardware will be able to provide energy management of the electronic components, which will increase the autonomous lifetime of the product. The aim of the research project is to develop a reservation and payment system for rehabilitation courses and service providers, supplemented with additional functions.

The Project Implementer`s company (SIA “FOREN Technology”) does not yet produce or develop this type of product. The new product will significantly reduce environmental impacts throughout the product life cycle – in the choice of raw materials, in the production process, during use and in the waste stream.

The aim of the Project is to put into production a new product in the Project Implementer`s company (SIA “FOREN Technology”), becoming more climate-neutral in the production process and in the product life cycle, and reducing the impact on the environment. As part of the Project, a high added value product will be introduced into production, which will continue to ensure the Project Implementer company`s (SIA “FOREN Technology”) sustainability in local and foreign markets and will increase the Project Implementer company`s (SIA “FOREN Technology”) productivity and competitiveness. Until now, the Project Implementer`s company (SIA “FOREN Technology”) did not have the appropriate equipment and know-how to produce such product. As part of the Project, both equipment and knowledge were acquired in cooperation with the Norwegian partner.

Description of technology, type of use – after registration on the platform, the client will be able to compare, sort and choose the most suitable rehabilitation center according to their current treatment and budget needs (specially developed, new algorithms in the software). It is planned that the service will include free telephone consultations, where a registered user will be able to receive the necessary information about rehabilitation courses and conditions before the actual booking is made and paid for.

The system''s automated route calculator algorithms will help customers find the fastest, cheapest or most suitable route to their chosen location; 3 (three) main modes of transport in the CIS region will be offered: car, train, plane. The platform will also offer plane and train ticket reservations. The partly unclear part of the rehabilitation process is that each parent of such a child is looking for new and effective treatment / rehabilitation methods.

In order to improve the ability of families to find the latest information on the most modern and effective methods, a blog section will be created during the development of the platform to provide the most up-to-date information on innovative healthcare methods or advanced traditional therapies, overcoming language barriers. The platform will also include an automated support robot that will answer frequently asked questions about rehabilitation 24/7. All additional services to be included in the platform are aimed at providing a customer-oriented service in which parents of children with disabilities can resolve rehabilitation, accommodation, logistics, reservations and other related issues. A detailed list of advantages of the new product and comparison with analogues: efficiency, advantages of use, lower operating costs, compatibility with other technologies, reduction of environmental impact, safety.

Target customers: Potential users of the new service are families in need of children rehabilitation.

Market: The CIS countries with the Russian-speaking community is the first market for the service. Then the platform will be developed – in the European Union and then in the USA and worldwide.

The Project Implementer`s company (SIA “FOREN Technology”) has not produced this type of product before. The new product also has a reduced environmental impact. The new product will be the first of its kind on the market. The new system is faster, replaces human labor, allowing full automation of the production process.

The Project develops a new system (main supported activities and eligible costs: experimental development, staff remuneration, purchase of materials for the development of the new product), informative activities, cooperation with a Norwegian partner.

The Project involves cooperation with a Scientific Institution – Riga Stradiņa University (RSU) – to carry out research and development activities for the new product.

By implementing the Project, the impact on the environment will be significantly reduced throughout the product''s life cycle – in the selection of the necessary materials, the production process, as well as during the use of products and their entry into the waste stream.

The Project Implementer''s company (SIA “FOREN Technology”) is working to find export partners abroad (in foreign markets) and start exporting.

After starting the production of the new product, the Project Implementer`s company (SIA “FOREN Technology”) plans to hire new employees (to create new working places for new employees), in the necessary amount.

The Project achieved its results, was successful and has the expected long-term impact. It matters that it achieved its results and was successful because into production was put a new product and it has a positive impact to the end beneficiaries.

As part of the implementation of the Project, a new production facility has been purchased, which enables the production of a new environmentally friendly product. It is important that the new product will have a high added value – in the production process, a high-quality final product is produced. This will allow the Company to strengthen its position in the market and increase turnover. As part of the Project, the highest quality equipment was purchased, which will reduce the percentage of defects and will function for a long time.

The project will lead to the development of a Reservation and payment system for rehabilitation treatment and service provision, supplemented with additional functions. The System will be able to provide energy management of the electronic components, which will increase the autonomous lifetime of the product.

Summary of bilateral results

The Project Partner provided knowledge transfer activities which were necessary and useful for the introduction of a new product and technology in production and development. A systematic review of the production process and production parameters was the basis for recommendations. The Project Partner assessed the stage of development of the product and technology and helped to identify the further steps to be taken and necessary to ascertain the performance of the product, the technology and the further planned commercialization of the product and the technology. An analysis of the target market was carried out, including whether it is a new market, a growing market, or a fully established market with established players. Market accessibility was assessed (the lower the market accessibility, the higher the marketing costs will be).It was assessed whether the product/technology developed can be "consumed" in the existing market situation and infrastructure (whether the technology is compatible with existing technologies and processes). Additional adaptations to the technology or existing infrastructure may be necessary to bring the technology to market. It was assessed the time and financial resources needed to develop the product/technology to a point where it can be marketed. It was justified that the development of the product and the technology would be cost-effective (the benefits of developing the product and the technology must outweigh the investment made).Securing intellectual property rights was assessed—whether the product and the technology can be protected by a patent, the likelihood of a third party being able to copy the product and the technology, and whether there is a patent currently registered on the product and the technology. It was considered whether introducing the product and the technology on the market would infringe already established intellectual property rights.
