Description

Organization ParSirdi.lv plans to attract additional staff to increase capacity, increase the number of active members, as well as promote the attraction of supporters and donors. Also, by actively participating in decision-making processes, creating greater influence in state institutions, representing patients'' rights and promoting credibility as an opinion leader.
In order to strengthen and promote the capacity of the association, information campaigns and seminars are planned, introducing the society to the patients'' association, its goals, provided opportunities and support in ensuring the right of citizens to quality health care, as well as involvement in decision-making.
In order to promote the awareness of the population about the opportunities to engage in civil activities, as well as to promote the health literacy of the population and the equality of patients, it is planned to organize virtual seminars, as well as separate events in person. In order for potential supporters and members of the association to find an opportunity to learn more about the association ParSirdi.lv and opportunities for involvement, it is planned to develop new design solutions and improve the educational and informative platform - website www.parsirdi.lv, improve page design by creating separate sections dedicated to capacity Internet resources (social networks, media, other related websites).
In order to promote the capacity of the association and develop knowledge in the field of civil activities, cooperation and experience exchange events with other non-governmental organizations operating in the field of public health education and protection of patients ''rights, including cooperation with the Latvian Network of Patient Organizations, are also planned.

Summary of project results

  1. Increasing organizational visibility and staff size: The goal was to improve the organization’s recognition and expand the team by at least one new employee.
  2. Increasing the number of active association members: The project sought to expand the network of active members and represent their rights within a larger community.
  3. Training and knowledge enhancement: The initiative focused on improving knowledge in fundraising, advertising, public relations trends, and digital communication, aiming to better equip the team.
  4. Website improvements: Efforts were directed at enhancing the organization''s website, transforming it into the central informational platform. This included adding sections for the project, donations, and supporters, as well as creating an easy-to-use membership application form.
  5. Promoting collaboration with other civic health and patient organizations: The project aimed to strengthen cooperation through both direct and remote communication, sharing experiences and knowledge. The organization was already a member of the Latvian Patient Organizations Network, facilitating such collaborations.
  1. Improvement and promotion of educational and informative platform
    The website was significantly enhanced with the addition of new sections, such as "Brochures for Patients," "Join Us" (with an electronic application form), and "Patient Rights." Technical upgrades were also made, improving overall functionality. A paid Facebook ad campaign was conducted, resulting in a substantial increase in followers, and a presentation was developed for potential members and supporters. Additionally, a roll-up banner and digital banners were created to increase visibility.
  2. Educational seminars for the public
    An online seminar focused on heart health, risk factors, prevention, and treatment, reached a wide audience through live streaming and post-event videos on social media and the website. Further educational efforts included lectures for medical students, covering the organization''s work and heart health education, as well as seminars discussing patient participation in medical research and post-holiday health recovery. These seminars were widely promoted through press releases and media outreach, significantly increasing public awareness and engagement.
  3. Capacity building of employees and volunteers
    Training sessions were organized for employees and volunteers to enhance their knowledge in key areas such as public relations, digital communication, project management, and sponsor engagement. These educational activities aimed to equip the team with the latest trends and challenges in health communication and effective project management, contributing to the overall strengthening of the organization’s capacity and efficiency.
  4. Collaboration with civil society organizations in health care
    A key activity involved fostering collaboration with other civil society organizations in the healthcare sector. A meeting of Latvian patient organizations was organized to discuss common goals and share experiences. This platform allowed for the exchange of valuable knowledge and the promotion of joint initiatives, further strengthening the organization’s presence in the health sector and its network of partners.
  5. Increase non-project related income
    Efforts to increase non-project-related income were focused on securing sponsorships and donations from various companies. The organization successfully engaged with potential sponsors, including leading pharmaceutical companies, and was able to secure over €30,000 in donations and grants. This funding was essential for supporting the organization’s activities and increasing its operational capacity, despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. Visual and informational materials, funded by the ACF project, played a key role in attracting these supporters.

Digital materials and website improvements. One of the major outcomes was the creation of essential materials to increase the organization’s visibility. Various digital materials were developed, including the improvement of the website and the creation of banners that were used in project-related activities. These banners continue to be utilized in other events that aim to inform the public about the organization. Additionally, a presentation and a video were produced to promote the organization’s work, which are still being used to attract new members and supporters.

Employment and capacity building. The project enabled two individuals to be employed, and their paid roles significantly contributed to the development of the organization. Their involvement has been key to motivating further growth and attracting new members.

Engagement and member growth. The project also led to a positive impact on the community. Through these activities, social media followers were successfully increased, and new members were gained. These individuals now have access to valuable information regarding heart health and patient rights, aligning with the mission to educate and support those in need. The activities were not only important for raising awareness but also allowed for valuable feedback from the public, which contributed to improving healthcare services in Latvia.
