Description

The project aims to solve problems related to the poor material base of health offices of pre-school and school education institutions of Šilutė district municipality, that doesn''t allow students to be properly educated in public health issues in schools, to increase their physical activity and safety.
The aim of the initiated project is to improve prevention and reduce health inequalities in pre-school and school education institutions of Šilutė district municipality.
Project activities:
1. Repair of health-officess of  15 pre-school and school education institutions of Šilutė district municipality;
2. Acquisition of methodological tools for health cabinets of pre-school and school education institutions of Šilutė district municipality.
The target groups of the project are students of pre-school and school education institutions of Šilutė district municipality, public health specialists working in educational institutions. The needs of the target group are related to quality and affordable educational services, strengthening health and safety.
The project will use partnerships and cooperation between various institutions, contributing not only to local communities, but also to strengthening public health in the Klaipeda region through the use of local resources, intersectoral partnerships and active involvement of educational communities.
It is expected that the renovation and provision of methodological tools in educational institutions will stimulate dialogue between local educational institutions, municipalities and local communities, strengthen healthy lifestyle skills at the local level, improve local people''s understanding of the benefits of healthy lifestyle, increase physical activity and safety, and contribute to society. health promotion at the local level.

Summary of project results

The project aimed to solve problems related to the poor material base of health offices of pre-school and school education institutions of Šilutė district municipality, that doesn''t allow students to be properly educated in public health issues in schools, to increase their physical activity and safety. The aim of the initiated project was to improve prevention and reduce health inequalities in pre-school and school education institutions of Šilutė district municipality.

During the implementation of the project, health-offices of 15 pre-school and school education institutions of Šilutė district municipality were renovated, 28 health offices were equipped with methodological tools and equipment. A total of 1771 methodological tools and equipment items were purchased during the project, of which 744 are aimed at improving mental health of children and youth. During the project 19 local specialists were trained to provide services with the purchased tools and provided these services to children and young people.

During the implementation of the project 5063 children and young people received improved services and used the purchased tools and equipment. Services for children and youth were improved in 28 health offices. More than 94 percent of the health offices specialists trained during the project confirmed enhanced abilities to recognize and treat cases of bullying and/or psychosocial problems among children and youth. Developed and equipped infrastructure, as well as trained specialists, allowed to make more significant contribution to the development of children''s and youth health care infrastructure and reduction and prevention of health inequalities among pre-school and school education institutions of Šilutė district municipality.
