Project "Implementation of a model for well-being advisers in Kazlų Rūda municipality‘‘ is aimed for reducing and preventing health inequalities in Kazlu Ruda municipality, by providing measures to improve the availability and quality of community mental health services.

One of the necessary conditions for the Lithuanian economy to become progressive, sustainable and inclusive and to promote economic growth is good mental health of the population. During the project implementation period, the services of a well-being adviser will be provided for 200 people, within 5 years after the project - for 500 people, the services will be used by 6% of residents in Kazlu Ruda municipality.

People''s awareness of depression, anxiety, insomnia, psychological adaptation is very low, which will lead to a publicity campaign form a positive public opinion about the services of a well-being adviser and their potential benefits for human mental health, education, awareness raising. People with mild signs of stress, anxiety, insomnia, depression and psychological adaptation problems will be encouraged not to be afraid to ask help. Another strength of this project is that it will not only provide well-being adviser services, but will also promote inter-institutional cooperation, the involvement of institutions in expanding welfare counseling services in the region, and facilitating the involvement of welfare counselors in agency activities.

The project envisages measures to develop and implement modern welfare counselor service programs, improve cross-sectoral cooperation to achieve meaningful changes for Lithuanian society, provide support for mental health promotion and prevention measures, paying special attention to the well-being of clients and their families.

Summary of project results

The project "Implementation of the welfare consultants’ model in Kazlų Rūda municipality" aimed to solve the following pressing societal problems: taking care of public mental health and good emotional well-being, improving the prevention of mental diseases such as depression, and reducing inequalities in improving health in the municipality of Kazlų Rūda. The main goal of the project was achieved - to create a model of well-being consultants that would contribute to improving the health and social well-being of the residents of Kazlų Rūda Municipality.

The project carried out activities and achieved the following results:

- 4 publicity events (contests) were organized, in which 93 people participated.

- The created website and Instagram account of the Welfare Consultant constantly provide and update information about the activities of the Welfare Consultant

- A modern well-being consultant''s office is equipped.

- Purchased furniture and computer equipment for the welfare consultant''s office.

- Organize 36 hours duration of the Applicant''s, partners'' and cooperating institutions'' employees'' seminars, in which 40 employees participated.

- Organize 24 hours duration Training of employees and representatives of communities, in which 61 employees participated.

- 1 Wellbeing Counselor trained to provide low intensity emotional counseling services.

- 227 residents of Kazlų Rūda municipality received low-intensity emotional counseling services. The emotional health of these residents has improved and the level of satisfaction with the services provided has been achieved.

- Organized publicity of the activities of the welfare consultant: 5 articles were prepared in the regional press, 2 newspapers of the welfare consultant were prepared, 2 video clips were created, 21 educational posters of the welfare consultant were created, advertising paraphernalia was purchased and distributed to residents during publicity events.

227 residents of Kazlų Rūda Municipality received direct benefits. The public health office of the Kazlų Rūda municipality received an indirect benefit, as the well-being consultant''s office established there improved the infrastructure of this institution. Family members of those who received the services of a well-being counselor also benefited indirectly, as their loved ones'' problems were solved or alleviated, and their emotional state improved.
