Description

The aim of the project is to develop youth-friendly healthcare services (YFHCS). During the project various activities will be organized in order to develop previously implemented 8 algorithms. The YFHCS coordinator will organize quizzes, lectures and discussions on these algorithms for youth, and will organize month of changes for youth. A psychologist, who will be working at least 0.5 full-time, will provide individual counseling and group sessions for young people. There will be organized events to prevent the use of psychoactive substances in educational institutions, the Snow Ball Camps. In the selected primary healthcare institution the principle of a “green corridor” will be introduced to youth-friendly healthcare services. The development of the Model will require cooperation with stakeholders from various sectors: social security, personal health care, law enforcement, education and non-governmental youth organizations. The stakeholders will contribute to the promotion of events and activities and will provide space for events and activities. The premises (event hall and psychologist''s office) for provision of YFHCSs will be established. A project website will be created for communication purposes, where Klaipėda youth will be able to find all the necessary information. The expected results - development of the Model in Klaipėda city, improved accessibility and quality of public health care services to young people, decreased inequalities in access to health care services.

Summary of project results

The aim of the project “Introduction of the adapted and extended model of the provision of youth-friendly healthcare services (YFHCSs) in Klaipėda City Municipality“ – to develop the model of youth-friendly healthcare services (YFHCSs) in Klaipėda City Municipality.

During the implementation of the project various activities have been organized in order to develop 8 algorithms. Project partner - Klaipėda County Police Headquarters - conducted lectures and events on the topic of psychoactive substance prevention in cooperation with the YFHCS coordinator. The YFHCS coordinator organized quizzes, lectures, discussions and month of changes on these algorithms for youth. The psychologist provided individual counseling and group sessions for young people. In cooperation with the primary healthcare center - VšĮ „Jūrininkų sveikatos priežiūros centras“ - the principle of a “green corridor” has been introduced to youth-friendly healthcare services. The premises (event hall and psychologist''s office) for provision of YFHCSs have been established. A project subpage of the website have been created for communication purposes.

Duration of the project implementation period (31 months, 2021-2023) more than 12,000 young people living in Klaipėda city participated in the project activities. Project results - the YFHCSs model has been developed during the project, the reach of the target group of young people has improved, as well as the availability and quality of public health care services for them has been improved. During 5 years term after the end of the project, activities will be continued according to the developed 8 algorithms.
