Description

The project aims to create the manor as an international space for the creation and cooperation of visual arts and musical artists. Project goal is to empower the historical Kamariškės manor as a central space of cultural life in Zarasai district, by combining different sectors, local and international cultural resources, to create a network of mutual cooperation.

Restored historic manor and developed unique space in the cultural heritage, for partners will create preconditions to develop services that would improve the local cultural, social and public well-being, strengthen the local economy:

- Support networks for local artists to strengthen their entrepreneurial skills and other competencies needed in creative business;

- Strengthening cooperation between local, national and international creators, promoting innovations in creating arts by combining visual arts and music, promote collaboration between creators of different generations;

- Accessibility of higher cultural services to the local community, ensuring openness of the results of exhibitions, music and plein airs of visiting creators in Kamariškės manor, on the other hand, to create opportunities for the community to use the competencies of visiting creators;

- Encouraging local entrepreneurship - not only to shape the cultural business model together with the local community, but also to identify the role of each partner and start building the local services infrastructure that the cultural business model will need to fulfil visitor’s needs, thus strengthening the local economy.

Summary of project results

The project "Kamariškės Manor - a central cultural space of Zarasai district based on history, creativity, innovation and cooperation", over a three-year implementation period, aimed to create Kamariškės Manor as an international space for creativity and cooperation between visual arts and music creators. 
The project aimed to empower the historic Kamariškės Manor as a central space for cultural life in Zarasai District, bringing together different sectors and local and international cultural resources, creating a sustainable network of mutual cooperation.
The objectives of the project were:
1.Using the methodology of creative place-making, to create the preconditions for the development of cultural network and services in Zarasai district, by constructing the Kamariškių Manor as a central space.
2.To preserve and restore the historical buildings of Kamariškės Manor and to adapt them to the provision of cultural services and the promotion of cultural entrepreneurship, to develop a space for creativity, recreation and cooperation between creators.
3.To create, test and develop a sustainable local, national and international cultural business - a creative and collaborative space for visual arts and music creators and to implement a cultural entrepreneurship acceleration programme for creators in the Zarasai district and international cooperation. 
The restoration of the historic manor house and the creation of a unique creative and collaborative space in the cultural heritage has created the conditions for the partners to develop services that improve local cultural, social and public well-being, strengthen the local economy.

The project included the following activities:
1. 3 information events were organised.
2. organised workshops with 140 participants.
3. 5 creative working group meetings were organised. 
4. Cultural heritage object restored and adapted for cultural use.
5. A recording studio was set up.
6. 4 international plein-air workshops held. 31 participants from Lithuania and 16 participants from Norway.
7.  28 events were organised: plein air workshops, workshops, seminars, cultural events.
8. 20 participants from Lithuania and 24 participants from the project partner NOPA organised public workshops for the children of Antalieptė Children''s Day Care Centre, children of Dusetai Children''s Day Care Centre, pupils of the Dusetai Art School and the local community. Residents from Norway also gave a concert for the residents of Antalieptė village. Contacts were established with developers in various fields, and they were consulted on a variety of issues, such as how to improve services and how to create a comfortable and inspiring place to live. 
9. 2 trips to project partners were organised, involving 8 people.
10. Cultural entrepreneurship training was organised: 
10. 1. The majority of participants began to concentrate more on and perform their works in public; 
10.2. Some of the participants recorded their works in recording studios;
10.3. Some participants are planning to release their debut CDs in the near future;
10.4 The participants'' skills in marketing and merchandising have improved; 
10.5 Participants are setting up ind. activities, MBs and NGOs in order to be able to expand and run their activities as legal entities. 
Added value achieved: increased number of concerts and musical performances, increased number of recorded and publicly released original works, planned albums or EPs in physical form, improved participant communication, increased number of social media followers and fans, and opportunities to take part in various projects.

Project results and target group:
Residents of the surrounding areas, residents of Zarasai district, with a special focus on young people - increased access to high quality cultural and cultural education services; creation of a new, innovative and open space for local residents; increased inbound flows of people, creating preconditions for the creation of other economic and social services;

Creators operating in Zarasai district - increased opportunities for international and interdisciplinary cooperation, for finding new forms of creative expression; opportunities to strengthen entrepreneurial skills and create cultural businesses; infrastructure for the creation and display of cultural production, and for events during which production is presented;
Music and visual artists from Lithuania and Norway - an alternative space for creativity and collaboration with the necessary infrastructure; opportunities to create international, local partnerships, as well as partnerships between different disciplines in search of new forms of creative expression;
 

Summary of bilateral results

Donor project partner Norwegian Society of Composers and Lyricists (NOPA NO) organized the participation of Norwegian artists in plein airs, cultural events and activities.
