Description
There is a passivity in the activities of the rural community, a reluctance to participate in active civic activities. This situation was exacerbated by the abolition of the school and the cultural center. To motivate community citizens, we need:
- Develop community leaders (especially among young people);
- Initiate engaging and exciting activities that promote active citizenship through teamwork;
- Organize meetings - exchange of good practice with other NGOs in the region.
The main goal of the project is to seek more active participation of young and middle-aged and senior citizens of Degaičiai rural community in civic activities.
Target groups:
1. Young up to 29 years (80 persons)
2. Middle-aged and elderly persons (100 persons).
Project results:
1. Completed practical-experiential classes (24 academic hours, 15 project participants);
2. 3 events were organized in the community (3 events, 125 project participants);
3. Created 1 information film (30 minutes) about community project activities (1 film);
4. 2 meetings were organized to share experience with regional NGOs (2 meetings, 40 project participants).
180 representatives of the target group will take part in the activities. After completing these activities, 15 percent. the civic activity of the community will increase (in the current situation, only 8% of the declared population (780) are active.
Summary of project results

- Initiate engaging and exciting activities that promote active citizenship through teamwork;
- Organize meetings - exchange of good practice with other NGOs in the region.
The main goal of the project was to seek more active participation of young and middle-aged and senior citizens of Degaičiai rural community in civic activities.
Project goals were met during these activities:
- Practical and experiential sessions (24 academic hours for 15 project participants, planned for 15);
- 3 community events organised ( 3 events, 214 participants, 125 planned);
- 1 information film (30 min.) on community project activities produced ( 1 film) ;
- 2 experience sharing meetings with NGOs in the region (2 meetings, 43 participants, 40 planned).
The project “Active Citizen - Active Community” mobilized the community for active activities. The assembled new team carries out the activities planned during the training. It has been flexibly adapted to the needs of the target group, as a result of which more and more people are participating in the training.

272 representatives of the target group took part in the activities.
Long-term impact on the target groups - a new team has been formed, which has taken the lead and is now active in the community with shared responsibilities. New needs of community members have been identified and the team''s capacity to carry out project activities has been strengthened. The target group - young people and the elderly and middle-aged - are involved in the community activities and continue to actively participate in the activities through volunteering.
