Description
Applicant is the oldest and the largest public institution of higher education in civil engineering in the Republic of Croatia.
Project aims to support the entrepreneurs from construction value chain (designers, architects, building companies, etc) in Croatia, in the areas stroked by earthquake, in form of technical and business education in order to achieve better business results. Sisak-Moslavina County will be the primary location for the project, since losses due to business interruption after earthquake are the largest there.
Summary of project results
Idea for the project was to offer support to entrepreneurs from construction value chain (designers, architects, building companies, etc) in Croatia, in the areas stroked by earthquake, in form of technical and business education in order to achieve better business results. Ambition for the projects is to support entrepreneurs in Croatia to develop their competences in main aspects of: business models in construction sector, material reuse strategies, waste management and the development of sustainable and modular building designs. Each of this topics raises awareness about practical and knowledge based solutions that can be implemented in business.
Output indicators have been successfully achieved:
- 45 green SMEs received 2 modules of executive training, 216 hours of training, coaching and mentoring for 90 green SME staff, conducted in hybrid form with involvement of construction chamber of commerce
- 5 large enterprises received 2 modules of executive training, 216 hours of training, for 10 large enterprises staff, conducted in hybrid form with involvement of construction chamber of commerce
- Three business organizations supported SMEs to increase their business knowledge
- Partner provided training for 2 Croatian trainers. Trainers trained 100 professional staff and introduced good practices from Norway about circular economy and agile approach to its main topics
- One public event was organized to promote project results. Eight media publications were made to promote the project
- 150 information distributed to the interested stakeholders about the Green Industry Innovations and environmental sustainability and its value for construction SMEs.
Project activities have contributed to the project Outcomes, which are: Increased competitiveness of Croatian enterprises within the focus area of Green Industry Innovation and Enhanced business collaboration between Croatian entities and Norwegian entities.
During project implementation period, fruitful trainings were organized for construction companies. Not only that the relevant topics were covered, but many underlying issues popped up during training days. For instance, many entrepreneurs would like to include their companies more within the topic of environmental sustainability, and they are looking into the ways of how to do it.
Summary of bilateral results
Due to excellent collaboration with the Norwegian partner IDN that was established within this project, there are plans for future cooperation and it will go in two directions:•Bilateral cooperation with Norwegian University of Science and Technology and IDN•Bilateral cooperation with partners from Japan
