Description

Applicant is an association founded jointly by 4 public entities, in the area of underwater robotics and sensors for purposes of monitoring and prevention of sea pollution.

Project aims at the establishment of efficient framework for collaboration between Norway and Croatia in the field of innovative maritime technologies. First step is to analyze and detect (map) all relevant data for future collaborative models. Second step is to strengthen bilateral B2B cooperation and co- creation in the field of Innovative maritime technologies.

Project results will be used to increase the capacity and business skills for Croatian enterprises in the blue economy, more specifically in innovation in marine technologies and in strengthening cooperation between scientific and private sector by applying successful business models already in use in Norway.

Summary of project results

The project aimed to address the lack of innovation and application of existing technologies in Croatia''s marine technology sector, particularly in autonomous systems, despite previous efforts in green and blue growth. Additionally, it sought to increase joint investments and collaborations between Croatian and Norwegian companies, which had been limited in the blue economy. By leveraging DIH Innovamare''s ecosystem, the project intended to strengthen networks and foster new cooperation for sustainable maritime technology development.

The project established strong collaboration between project partners and completed key tasks such as data collection methodologies, procurement procedures for PR and feasibility studies, and organized study trips. Specifically, the project facilitated a study trip of a Norwegian delegation of 9 people, representatives of relevant companies and organizations to Croatia, and a Croatian delegation of 12 representatives to Norway. This resulted in 30 bilateral meetings during a conference on a sustainable blue economy held in Zadar. The project updated MAIROS platform and Map of Excellence, interactive digital map, a model for future cooperation, and successfully transferred the Living Lab model from Norway to Croatia.

Project activities have contributed to the project Outcomes, which are: Increased competitiveness of Croatian enterprises within the focus area of Green Industry Innovation and Enhanced business collaboration between Croatian entities and Norwegian entities.

Furthermore, it led to the development of 10 cooperation project designs and follow-ups on 30 B2B meetings, significantly enhancing collaboration between Croatian and Norwegian entities in marine technologies, particularly in autonomous systems and sustainable maritime innovations.

Summary of bilateral results

Promoter states that the collaboration between Ocean Autonomy Cluster at FI has proven to be highly fruitful, with ongoing joint initiatives, communication channels, and regular exchange of ideas and contacts evolving as the MATIN project advanced.
