Red Fork is a small company established in 2016 in Varazdin, North Croatia. They employ three people. Their main activities are related to development of healthy menus and providing nutritional consulting services. On regular basis they also organize the nutritional conference NutriComm, with focus on topics of nutrition, bio technology, nutritional awareness raising and food science.
The project:
Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) is a measure of progress towards the EU''s energy efficiency targets, and Croatia''s EEI score in 2020 was 0.66, slightly below EU average 0.70.
This project aims to increase the Energy Efficiency Index (EEI) for Croatian hospitality segment - predominantly hotels with the aim to contribute to reduction of energy consumption. Red Fork will create a new business offer for Croatian hotels that will include knowledge and expertise on ISO 50001 (EnMS - Energy Management System), Circular economy and ISO Net Zero systems for the sole purpose of reduction of energy consumption in Croatian Hotels.
By implementing an EnMS, hotels can identify opportunities to reduce their energy consumption and improve energy efficiency, which can result in significant cost savings.
By reducing energy consumption, hotels can also reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, helping to mitigate climate change and protect the environment. Since consumers are more aware of climate protection and energy consumption, implementing this activity can help hotels differentiate themselves from competitors by demonstrating their commitment to sustainability and reducing their environmental impact.
With the assistance from Norsk Energi, who are experts in this field, and who will transfer knowledge and expertise to Red Fork, Red Fork plans to expand their services to ISO 50001 Energy Management System with additional insight into Circular Economy and ISO IWA 42:2022(en) - Net zero guidelines.
