Description

Alpha Charta d.o.o. is an innovative company founded in 2021 in Zagreb. It produces 100% biodegradable paper straws from sustainably managed wood/paper. The company currently has a total installed capacity to produce 100 million straight paper straws annually. The short-term strategy of the company, primarily focused on the sustainable development and increase of production capacities through innovative production technologies of the current production plant has the objective to become an efficient, sustainable and green manufacturer with lower production costs, high energy efficiency and low greenhouse gas emissions.

This is an investment project that aims to contribute to increased competitiveness, value creation and sustainable growth of the Croatian manufacturing industry through green industry innovation. Investment is in the innovative production line for the production of bendable paper straws. Market research has been carried out and showed that new innovative and green production technologies for production of bendable paper straws just became available on the market that far surpass the old generation, particularly in level of automation and resource efficiency. The applicant is in a favourable situation to exploit newly developed technologies that just became available on the market that are new for the company, considering its rising market position, good connection with target markets, connections with key suppliers, producers and distributors, and the internal know-how to produce a high-quality sustainable product.
