Description
Sekundar usluge Ltd. is a small company incorporated in 2009 in Matulji, and since is continuously active in waste management, performing collection, transport, preparation, processing and warehousing of non-toxic waste, with active permits issued under Ordinance on Waste Management in Croatia for great number of separately collected materials. Sekundar usluge Ltd. operates in market niche dealing with industrial and commercial waste rather than residential, with clients range from Croatia and EU depending on category, between collecting waste or recirculation of raw materials from recovery operations.
Project activities are focused around the investment in the latest industry technology equipment. Eddi Current Separator extracts reusable materials and thus enables material recirculation. Another machine is planned for production blocks from plastic waste (new end product for the Applicant). Industry material handler and Electric Forklift Truck will be acquired for the manipulation, loading and unloading of the raw materials to the new machines. Preparing the production facility for installation of new machines, including pools for raw materials is also one of the foreseen activities.
Summary of project results
As one of the leading innovators in Croatia in waste management, the Applicant regards sustainability as moving beyond waste management, towards a green economy, striving to reduce the ''inflow'' of new resources, especially non-renewable resources, to use, re-use and valorize the resources in the economy as much as possible, and to minimize the ''outflow'' of waste and emissions, including pertaining to our production processes as reduction of the energy used.
For achieving the project goals, two innovative technologies were implemented in the company: one for material separation and the other for remanufacturing of plastic waste. To fully implement those two innovative technologies, the following equipment was acquired:
- Eddi Current Separator; mobile unite module including electric power drive for extraction of reusable waste for remanufacturing process
- Machine for production of new end product - blocks from plastic waste (plastic bags, bottles, containers etc.) - electric power drive
- Industry material handler for handling general and bulk waste
- Electric Forklift Truck and Roll-off containers
As a result of the project, workers gained new skills for operating sophisticated new equipment.
Expected outcome of the project is the increased competitiveness of the company:
- Estimated annual growth in turnover: 55% in 2027, in comparison to 2021
- Estimated annual growth in profit: 49% in 2027, in comparison to 2021
- Jobs created: 3 by 2024, in comparison to 2021
There are also significant green effects and the estimations are as follows:
- Tons of CO2 saved: -3.226.000 by 2024 in comparison to 2021
- MWh energy consumption savings: 8 by 2024 in comparison to 2021
