Description
Ambroz is currently among top ten producers of all forms of metal boxes in Croatia. Approximately 90% of revenues is generated on domestic market and the rest is generated on the European Market. One of company’s aims is to increase the sales on the foreign market.
In recent years, with support from Norway Grants, Ambroz has significantly automated its production processes and significantly improved its competitive position on the market. However, there are still bottlenecks in the production, and some aspects of the process/some equipment still requires modernization. Namely, at this point, Ambroz still uses the old punching machine. Since punching machine enables making holes in metal and shape modifications, it is one of the essential machines in the production of metal boxes. With this project, Ambroz wants to replace the old punching machine with the new one, that is faster, more precise and consumes less electricity.
In addition to the above, the measuring for holes and shapes that are done on the metal Ambroz currently performes manually. This results in imprecise punching, and even though waste material is reduced due to previous investments into automation, waste is still significant, and lot of repeating in the production process is necessary to get the desired result. With this project, Ambroz also wants to invest into a measuring machine, which will reduce both, the manual work and scrap material to a minimum. Working conditions of workers will be improved, as there will be less dust particles emitted into the atmosphere.
With procurement of these two machines Ambroz will complete the modernization of its production. Due to better quality of its products, faster delivery and lower unit costs, its competitiveness on the market, including European market will further increase, resulting in higher revenues and profit, and new employments.
Summary of project results
Working in metal manufacturing industry, many activities in Ambroz were carried out on the outdated technology and some activities even manually. This is why, to be able to remain competitive on the market, Ambroz decided to modernize its production. They identified the remaining bottlenecks and realized that the investment into punching machine and measurement system is needed to increase the productivity and production capacity.
The main activity of the project was purchase of the punching machine and measurement system. By investing into these two pieces of machinery, Ambroz completed the modernization of its production, as the whole production process is now automated, manual work is reduced to minimum, productivity has increased significantly and so is the capacity. The production costs have lowered, and quality of products have improved. This is why the competitiveness of the company has increased.
The beneficiaries of this project are company''s workers, who are now working in better conditions (cleaner air, less dust and pollution), with less manual work involved.
As machines are also much faster and consume less energy, contributing ultimately to lower carbon footprint, the beneficiary of this project is the society in general. Society in general will also benefit from the increased employment opportunities that these investments will result with.
