Description

STO AL was founded in 1995, in Cavle, near Rijeka, Adriatic Croatia. The main activity of the company is the manufacture of builders’ joinery, and some of its products are: PVC joinery, blinds, raw materials for room doors and anti-burglary doors. Most of its revenues are generated on Croatian market, even though in the past few years it has started to expand to other European Countries.

About the Project

As a manufacturer of builders’ joinery (PVC joinery, blinds, raw materials for room doors and anti-burglary doors), STO-AL needs to invest into new and modern equipment constantly, to be able to respond to growing customers’ needs and remain competitive. With this project, Applicant wants to achieve two goals: a) invest into new, superior equipment that will enable higher automation of the production, and b) better organization of the production process, by integration and achieving better control over all stages of the production process.

With this project, project promotor will invest into the following items of equipment:

- Circular format wood saw with electronic positioning
- CNC machine 2
- Edge Banding machine
- Assembling table
- Soot purifier, grease and water jet smoke
- Compressor station with tank and dehumidifier
- Electric forklift
- JLG electric scissor lift
- SW- CAD CAM Software

In addition to achieving higher productivity/capacity increase and establishing more sustainable and resilient production process, leading to higher revenues and profit the implementation of this project will lead to greener production, because new equipment is energy efficient and enables reuse of wood waste in the production.

Summary of project results

The objective of the project was to strengthen the competitiveness and encourage the internationalization of the company by investing in green and digital technologies. That is achieved by investing in machinery and software, but also improving and innovating business and manufacturing processes of PVC and aluminum doors and windows.

The project achieved the following Output Indicators:

a) Purchase and installation of Equipment to increase production capacity (Circular format wood saw with electronic positioning; CNC machine 2; Edge Banding machine; Assembling table; Soot purifier, grease and water jet smoke; Compressor station with tank and dehumidifier; Electric forklift; JLG electric scissor lift)

b) Purchase and installation of software - solution for digitalization and optimization of existing production and work processes that will help achieve further alignment towards a complete digital business.

As a result of the project, workers gained new skills for operating sophisticated new equipment and are now working in the safer and healthier environment.

The project’s contribution to the contract outcomes is expected to be achieved after 2025.

Expected outcomes - Increased competitiveness of the company:

- Estimated annual growth in turnover: 27% by 2025, in comparison to 2020

- Estimated annual growth in net operational profit: 48% in 2025, in comparison to 2020,

- Estimated number of new employments: 6 by 2025, in comparison to 2020

- Estimated annual decrease of CO2 emissions: 0.78095 tonnes by 2025, in comparison to 2020
