Description

S.A.K.Z. is founded in 2014 in the City of Solin, Croatia. Company’s main activity is design, implementation and control of anticorrosion protection of ships, yachts, gas tanks, pipelines and constructions. Primary activities of the company are surface preparation and cleaning off all kinds of surfaces; application of surface coating; quality control of coatings. Company''s mission is to provide top quality service in the field of anticorrosion protection and to increase competitiveness through sustainable growth.

Currently, for de-coating of surfaces, S.A.K.Z. is using abrasive technique which is obsolete and ineffective technology. This results in high energy consumption, high quantities of toxic airborne dust and low capacity for surface preparation. These challenges should be resolved with this project, which involves investment in new equipment - Ultra High Pressure Waterjetting Robotic System (UHP WRS) with wastewater container for removal of surface coatings.

This investment will lead to application of new green technologies and will increase the competitiveness of the Company and its resistance to crises. It will significantly increase Company’s working capacity and it is estimated to increase its revenues and profit and also generate new jobs. It will satisfy more and more strict ecological demands in procurement procedures. This will give advantage to the company over the competition.

Summary of project results

Project is changing the surface preparation (de-coating) technology that is used. This investment will provide robotic water jetting technology instead of manual sandblasting technology that will enable better working conditions, lead to less physical demanding work process and prevent personnel health hazards associated with different air contaminants that are produced during abrasive blasting and also related to the contaminated water spray/leakage with contaminants such as: Aluminum, Arsenic, Cadmium, Chromium, Lead, Nickel, etc. In particular will enable significant reduction in toxic silica dust exposure.

Ultra High Pressure Water Jetting Robotic System with wastewater collector was delivered, and the training for robotic system operating was conducted. As a result of the project, workers gained new skills for operating sophisticated new equipment and are now working in the safer and healthier environment.

Estimated increase in turnover for 2027, compared to 2020 is expected to be 137%.

Estimated increase in net operating profit for 2027, compared to 2020 is expected to be 133%.

It is estimated that 4 new jobs are created in 2023 compared to 2021.

There are also significant green effects and the estimations are as follows:

- Tons of CO2 saved: 38,2 by 2024 in comparison to 2019
- MWh energy consumption savings: 129 by 2024 in comparison to 2019
- Tons of abrasive material saved: 241,2 by 2024 in comparison to 2019
