Description
Anilox operates in the field of prepress and production of rollers for flexible packaging printing and decorative industry. It is located in Zminj, Central Istria.
Company’s main activities are as follows:
- Prepress as a part of the production process preceding the roller production
- Production of rollers for flexible packaging printing as a product containing gravures of the designs created within the prepress phase.
With this project, Anilox is investing into the set of equipment, while direct laser engraving system for Gravure cylinders production is the main investment.
The investment will enable increase of production capacity. Procurement of green technology/equipment and its implementation within the new production process will allow the Company to produce rollers that are significantly improved compared to the old ones, and will allow for reduced ink consumption, reduced energy consumption needed for drying etc. The green equipment used in the production process will reduce the engraving time needed to produce one roller up to 8x and significantly reduce raw material consumption since the possibility of cylinder damaging will be reduced by at least 75%.
This will increase company’s competitiveness, and as a result, revenues and profitability, and will contribute to Company’s long term sustainability.
Summary of project results
Operating in the field of prepress and production of rollers for flexible packaging printing Anilox strives to be at the top of its industry, providing only the superior quality products.
To be able to maintain the top quality of their products, and also increase the capacity, Anilox needed a fresh investment, into the direct laser engraving system, a machinery that only few in the industry possess.
The main activity of the project was procurement of direct laser engraving system, which has been successfully finalized. Procurement of Company is now able to produce rollers that are significantly improved compared to the old ones. It consumes less ink and less energy, as drying process is much faster. The new technology reduces the engraving time needed to produce one roller up to eight times and significantly reduces raw material consumption since the possibility of cylinder damaging is reduced by at least 75%.
This is a green project, since the technology enables saving of resources such as ink and other raw materials, as the risk of damaging the cylinder is significantly reduced with new technology.
It also reduces consumption of energy, thus the project contributes to green transition.
Ultimately, by increasing its competitive position on the market, Anilox contributes to increasing of competitiveness of Croatian economy in general, reducing social and economic differences among European Regions.
